I think I’ll definitely make the trip there. Everyone seems to be raving about it. 😉

Honestly, I had one of the most uncomfortable experiences there... This woman actually looked me in the eye and told me I was too short—I'm only about 5'3"—and basically said she didn't have anything for my size because she wasn't going to bother altering her dresses for me. So, I just sat there feeling completely out of place while my maid of honor tried on gowns, all because the shop owner decided she was "normal height," as Mila would put it... Not to mention how she kept repeating, over and over, that they don't even carry chiffon wedding dresses!!!!
When it comes to actual quality, professionalism, expertise, and just being decent to people, Victoria's Secret and Glamour Bride are definitely the gold standard.

See, it's true what they say—everyone's different. I totally disagree with Tobon. When I went to Victoria's Secret, the two salesgirls were so clueless it was dizzying; it was like they didn't even want me buying anything. They put zero effort in, so their professionalism, skill, and kindness are pretty much non-existent.

I had a great time at Glamour Bride, though. The manager is awesome, but feels like they only have like 10 dresses total and that's it. 🤷

Personally, I was obsessed. I got my dress there from the 2014 collection, and you could tell nobody had ever touched it. The lady even showed me the ledger to prove no one had reserved it, and the price wasn't some crazy $6,000 or $8,000... it was actually super reasonable! 🙂

So, would you say you fall within a "normal" height range? 😁

It was all for her. My godmother is roughly the same height and she had a wonderful experience—the staff was incredibly sweet and let her try on absolutely anything she wanted. Meanwhile, they practically cornered me... 😁 It’s wild how much of a difference just a couple of inches can make. 😂
Anyway, I just wanted to mention that if you’re on the shorter side, you might want to steer clear of Mila if you'd rather avoid being treated poorly. Honestly, the woman is nearly seven feet tall, so it seems pretty obvious she's just taking out her own frustrations on girls who don't look anything like her.

Hold up, girls who are 5'3" are just gonna wear heels anyway, so height shouldn't even be an issue.

I honestly wouldn't tell anyone to skip specific brands—whether it's Nordstrom, Saks, Anthropologie, or even Zara—because nobody ever knows when they'll stumble upon "the one"... plus, you can always just add a few inches with some killer pumps. 🙂

I’m also quite short myself,😕 standing at 5'4", but obviously, I'll be wearing heels.🙂
The more I look into this, the more confused I get. There's no other way forward; we just have to keep moving.

I’ve definitely been there, rocking a pair of 12cm heels myself once or twice... but honestly, maybe she was just having one of those days where everything went wrong and she decided to take it out on me.

Hey everyone,
We’re hunting for a wedding venue in San Francisco (looking at about 200 guests) and we really dig the vibe at the Sky restaurant over at Joker. Has anyone actually held their big day there? Looking for some real talk—recommendations, complaints, whatever.
Thanks!

The food and the overall atmosphere are killer, especially those welcome cocktails they serve out on the terrace by the pool under the open sky. My one gripe—and honestly, this just depends on the crowd you invite—is that if smoking is banned inside the hall, the smokers tend to drag the non-smokers right out to the patio with them. Especially during the summer, you might end up with a dance floor that feels a bit... empty.

Hey ladies! Well, looks like I’m officially joining the ranks of the hopeless romantics 😁. Our wedding is set for next June at a venue in San Francisco 🙂 and we finally booked the hall! Now we just need a band and a photographer... We've always had our hearts set on Twist Off, but they're totally booked 😢. Someone suggested Taxi Band instead... ??? Anyone here actually worked with them? I've been scouring every corner of the internet and can't find anything solid about them. Honestly, they give off more of a rock vibe to me :banghead

Tried those mini macarons from her Candy Shop... one word: PERFECTION. So soft they literally melt in your mouth, and you can actually taste the real ingredients—one was strawberry, the other pistachio. mmmmmm 😍
I bet all the cookies are like that, just look at 'em. 🤷

We went to the Candy Shop for a tasting and they seriously nailed it!
Thanks for the tip 👋

Hello,

Does anyone happen to know a guitarist who could play a few tunes during the get-together? 🙂)

Could I get a little help here? I’m trying to figure out which banquet halls or restaurants in San Francisco would be good for about 200 people. We're planning a wedding for September 2015... I've been doing a ton of reading, but I just can't make up my mind. Everything seems to have its pros and cons, you know? If anyone has some tried and true recommendations, please let me know...
Thanks so much!

If you ask me, the place is a total Pirate 🙂 now. Ever since they got the new owner, the food has been killer—I’m talking double portions of fish and meat. Everything else? The staff, the vibe, all top-tier... five stars easy. 😉I’d say they can seat maybe 200 people tops... we're planning to head back there next April.
