Has anyone here actually dealt with the Strelitzia flower shop over in San Francisco? I'm curious about their service quality and if their prices are reasonable. Thanks in advance!

Alright, ladies, moms, queens—listen up.
I figured it was finally time for me to brag a little bit. Now that the dust has settled from my wedding, I can actually sit down and share how everything went, along with some feedback from our guests.
We held the reception at a restaurant called Andrea—most people around here know it as Nirs—over in the Draver district. We had about 160 guests, all seated at round tables with crisp white linens. They did their own thing with the table and chair decor, including these really cool floral aquariums on the tables. As for the food? Honestly delicious. It wasn't that heavy, cliché wedding fare either; they served amazing homemade gnocchi. The service was top-notch, too—the servers were incredibly attentive without being intrusive. We truly had everything we needed. I honestly have nothing but praise for them; they nailed every single detail. Plus, they have guest rooms right below the restaurant, which was super convenient. Seriously, hats off to them. I can't recommend this place enough.

Good day and greetings to everyone,
I am a newcomer to this forum and these discussions. 🙂 As it happens, I am getting married quite soon. 🙂
I find myself in need of some guidance. Does anyone have recommendations for a seaside tavern or perhaps a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere? Most importantly, the food must be exceptional. I am looking to host a dinner for approximately 30 friends—all of them young—in the coastal area somewhere between Santa Monica and Huntington Beach.
I would be most grateful for any advice or personal experiences you might be willing to share.

Hey guys, you're being way too quiet in here... help a person out!

I'm looking to book some catering, a choir for a church service, and I'm also on the hunt for some killer desserts. I heard Viadel is pretty solid, but when it comes to $12, do they do those creamy, custard-style cakes?
Thanks

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone here has actually dealt with DJ Joka (that's Joško Milun, by the way—he used to spin at those early events over at Pin). Or, if you think he might not be the right fit, maybe someone could point me toward another DJ who knows what they're doing? It’s going to be a pretty wild party with about 50 people attending, so I really want to get the vibe right.

Thanks

Magnolia Bakery - their treats are $12 both creamy and crumbly

If you need a choir for a church, you should definitely reach out to chunky—they're absolutely top-tier.

For catering, check out local BBQ joints or steakhouse platters

I mentioned earlier that the local deli platters are actually top-tier, and honestly, they're way more budget-friendly than the big commercial options we usually look at; I’ve used them before and they really earned my respect.

If you're looking around San Francisco, you could check out places like Kat's, Pimpinela, Arcada, The Pirate, or Galinac.

I’d highly recommend Rino Pavlić over in San Francisco. Honestly, he’s great. You can probably find him on Facebook if you want to scroll through some photos of his work and see what he can do.

Greetings, everyone. 🙂
I find myself facing a few more dilemmas and would be immensely grateful for any insight you might be willing to share.
First and most crucially, I am seeking impressions and advice regarding Loh's studio—has anyone here actually worked with them? Is their reputation earned, or merely manufactured?
Secondly, I have come across this particular wedding gown from the Glamour Bride salon, specifically by Sherri Hill:

https://www.facebook.com/17674768905...type=3&theater

Does anyone happen to know which year this collection belongs to? Furthermore, how does one even go about sourcing such a piece—is there a specific way these things function? 🙂>

Thirdly, while I have successfully tracked down almost every makeup artist online, I have hit a complete dead end searching for Sanja Korda, Sanja Krstulović, Goga from San Francisco, Antonija Guć, or Ana Grgić. Does anyone happen to possess their contact numbers, or perhaps links to their portfolios where I might evaluate their work and read some reviews? 🙂>

My sincere thanks to you all for your responses and assistance.
Warm regards from sunny Manhattan Island,
Ana

Hey everyone. 🙂
Got a few more questions popping up. Could really use some help if anyone’s free—would be super grateful.
First things first—anyone actually used Lowe's studio before? Looking for some honest feedback or advice.
Got another shot of a wedding dress from David's Bridal, Sherri Hill:

https://www.facebook.com/17674768905...type=3&theater

Anyone know what year this collection is from? Also, any idea where I can actually find it or how the whole process works? 🙂

Third thing—I’ve pretty much tracked down every makeup artist online, but I'm hitting a wall with Sanja Korda, Sanja Krstulović, Goga from San Francisco, Antonija Guć, and Ana Grgić. If anyone has their numbers or links to their portfolios so I can check out their work and see what people are saying, let me know. 🙂

Thanks for all the help and the answers, guys.
Greetings from sunny Manhattan Island.
Ane

A friend of mine used Lowe's for her studio. She's loving it—prices were actually killer.

I've got that link from Ana Grgić.
You can grab the dress from them—website says it's in stock.

Here’s my take on how the search is going. 🙂
We finally pulled the trigger on the Dolis venue. It’s on the smaller side, capped at 150 people, which is plenty for us. We’re looking at $35 per head for a standard menu (think prosciutto, cheese, fish pâté, beef soup, black and white risotto, beef stew with gnocchi, lamb, pork, and roasted potatoes). That covers everything from the welcome drinks to wine, beer, soda, and unlimited champagne whenever we want to toast. We’ll bring our own dessert—nothing without a permit, obviously, maybe some dry snacks too. The price includes chair covers and bows, and since every table gets its own candle holder and little trinkets, most of the decor is basically handled. They offer extra lighting, but I probably shouldn't be the judge of that since I don't need a dark club vibe just to dance. 😉 The manager there is some younger guy, and he’s super easy to talk to; we can work out pretty much anything. He even suggested we could pick different colors for the decor, so I’m going to send him my ideas. Also, kids under 10 are half price, and toddlers are free, obviously.
Next up: the band. After endless searching and scrolling through all your suggestions and recommendations, we finally settled on Bravo. 😁 These guys are killer; you can tell they actually know their stuff. The price fluctuates depending on the lineup, anywhere from $1,500 for a trio to $2,200 for a six-piece. They have a female vocalist who absolutely shreds. Their repertoire is huge—basically anything except that trashy pop-country stuff, which I don't even want anyway.
For photography and video, we’re going with Mladen, a photographer from Los Angeles, mostly because we know him, but even if we didn't, his rates are great. The value you get for what he includes is honestly unbeatable. Now, I’m going to relax for a bit until the end of the year. It’s way too early to start worrying about cakes and flowers. 🙂

Hey everyone!
My wedding is set for June 20th, and we’re keeping things a bit more intimate with about 60 guests. Because of that, I’m on the hunt for a smaller, high-quality band with truly amazing vocals. The groups I originally had my eye on are already booked up. Please, please recommend some bands or even a few different options? I'm starting to panic a little thinking I won't find anyone in time... 🤦 Thanks so much in advance for the help! 😉

I'm actually hunting for a band to play a party, and I've stumbled across this group online a few times. Honestly? The vocals are just awful. Especially the lead singer. What was that?

Can anyone recommend a solid hairstylist in San Francisco? I really need someone who has a steamer/hood available.🙂

It really just depends on what you're looking for, honestly. From what I know, Dalila is pretty solid if you're going for those classic wedding expo vibes—they usually handle the more polished styles at those big events. If you're just after something low-key like some loose curls, I'm pretty sure any stylist can knock that out for you without any trouble.

Check out D-art studio over in San Francisco. Their Facebook page is actually legit, you should take a look. 😉
