Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a catering service? I’m looking for someone who provides top-tier food, but more importantly, they need to handle the logistics—tents, equipment, the whole setup—and ensure everything looks polished and professional. Who would you say is the best in the business, and what kind of ballpark figures should I be expecting for pricing?

Raymond Brooks7 As I was saying:
I was wondering... have they stopped doing deliveries altogether? 🤔 They actually delivered it to me personally—I had to pay an extra delivery fee since the destination was quite a distance from San Francisco... plus, he finished the drop-off right on the spot because everything wouldn't fit properly in the van in one go.

They offer delivery too, but honestly, trying to transport a brittle croquant exactly how I envisioned it felt like a massive gamble on the road. They actually flagged that concern in my email right away, so I didn't want to take any unnecessary risks. Instead, we’ve decided to just order from Bobby, who has a local branch right in the city where our wedding and venue are located. It ended up being more cost-effective and much less stressful, plus I'm confident it'll arrive in one perfect piece before we start slicing it up. 😁

Back when I was scouting venues a few months ago, they were quoting $39 per person. If I recall correctly from my conversation with the owner, it’s a pretty massive hall—they can actually use partitions to "shrink" the space if you're planning a smaller reception. To be honest, after a few communication hiccups at the end, I didn't actually get to see the place in person. My gut feeling was that they aren't exactly thrilled about hosting groups of 200—they'd much rather fill the whole room with a larger crowd—but hey, maybe I've got that wrong. Looking at the photos, the place looks lovely and the price seems quite reasonable to me, so there's certainly no harm in 😉

And I keep calling it a "dress" instead of a "wedding gown," but it's really just this gorgeous, long white dress 🙂

A friend of mine actually had her ceremony there recently. She went with a simple white one featuring lace details, and she looked great.$1833

Hi everyone, I just signed up for the forum because I wanted to offer an opening on October 17th in Saint Francisco. A wedding got postponed, so the venue in Naperville is now available. It’s a Best Bend group, photography is being handled by Tony, and I’ve already taken care of all the deposits. Just figured I'd put it out there in case anyone can use it—I'm happy to help out. Feel free to shoot me a DM... good luck to everyone.

I’m wondering how much lead time you guys actually needed to lock in the cake, makeup, and hair... and when did you all head in for dress fittings? I was thinking about getting my dress custom-made just a month before the big day, but now I’m starting to wonder if that’s cutting it too close?
I’ve got the basic stuff handled—things that definitely should have been settled sooner—but beyond that, not really. Now I’m looking at a mountain of work ahead of me, on top of everything else, so I need to figure out how to organize my life and squeeze everything in. I’ll check out the details whenever I can, there’s so much useful info out there, but man, it's a lot to take in...
Is a month really enough time for all those little details? I know invitations probably need to go out way earlier than that...

How long did it actually take you guys to get all those tiny little things organized?

Does anyone have any recommendations for where to order a decent cake—and more importantly, what kind of damage am I looking at in terms of price?

Does anyone happen to know what the current pricing looks like for crocante and whole cakes over at Zenith? Thanks...

$400 crunchy... just your average $67...

But when it comes to Bobby’s crunch $500

(Both of them up on the 5th floor)

Is it actually standard practice for a studio to demand that you pay a deposit to hold your slot, plus an additional 30% of the total projected cost several months in advance? Or am I just dealing with a complete outlier here...

I always pay that much, so it's probably just how they handle that specific venue😵

That is the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. I simply paid a $500 deposit, and that was absolutely everything.

I just finally settled on the cake, and my wedding isn't until September. I picked my hair stylist recently, but since I know her so well, it wasn't a huge deal, and I actually booked my makeup artist last year because the popular ones stay booked up forever. As for the dress, it really depends on what you're looking for; if you want something simple, a month might be plenty, but honestly, it all comes down to who you're working with...

Studio Zenith or Pixar... which one do you think hits harder?

If I were looking for a band to recommend—one with great energy, solid lyrics, and without all that unnecessary whining—who would you pick between Boss, Vive, or Dice? To be honest, Vive is technically flawless, but they just don't seem to have that connection with the crowd, even if they are objectively amazing... on the other hand, Boss has that killer stage presence and a repertoire that actually keeps people moving. I'm torn :-/

I'm Bill, but since I haven't actually tied the knot yet, I can't give you the full breakdown... I just know we really liked them. I was at a wedding where Studio Smile was handling things, and man, they had a freaking helicopter there! Plus, there were like four different photographers running around. I've caught glimpses of their shots and they look pretty solid, but I don't know all the nitty-gritty details...
As for Visa, I know they pull a great crowd, but they definitely aren't cheap.

The folks over at Smail’s are definitely more budget-friendly... whereas the crew at Beep is charging a premium and demanding a 30 percent deposit upfront... though, I have to admit, their video work is top-tier. In my opinion, they actually outshine Smail’s when it comes to motion. My only gripe? The photography feels a bit lackluster—everything comes out looking somewhat dim and moody. It’s just hard to tell if it's a stylistic choice or just poor lighting... I can't quite make up my mind.
