In case anyone cares—and I hope this isn't some blatant ad—there’s a wedding expo happening today and tomorrow (Dec 5–6, 2015) at the Marriott 👍

No church or priest involved—just the actual ceremony with an officiant out in the open (that’s my main focus, not some thing after dinner, we can figure that part out later). A courtyard sounds pretty good to me for the vibe and setting, I just don't know if they allow that kind of thing there or how much of a hit it would be on the wallet...

Allure Ex Fabula. If anyone out there is hunting for the perfect venue, let me tell you, this place is a total gem—we actually hosted our big celebration here recently. First off, the guys running the show are absolute pros; they're incredibly easy to work with and handled all our requests without breaking a sweat. The space itself is stunning, offering both large and small options depending on what you need, and you don't have to stress about parking since they've got plenty of space secured. As for the food? Honestly, the charcuterie spread was a solid ten out of ten. They served two different kinds of freshly baked bread—one studded with seeds and another with olives—which absolutely blew us away. From the soup to the black and white risotto, everything was perfection, and the roasted dishes were just incredible. We also dove into their homemade desserts, and let me tell you, we were all completely floored. I noticed they offer catering services too, and since they're hosting open house days right now, you should definitely swing by if you want to check it out. Oh, and the service? The servers were top-notch—polished, polite, and lightning-fast. We truly had everything we could possibly have needed.

Look, the restaurant is great, but I definitely wouldn't pick it for my wedding.

So, what, you want the whole wedding package all under one roof? I honestly thought you were just looking for a spot for dinner, and besides, does this place even have a decent live band?

Any recommendations for a good DJ?🙂

Also, regarding outdoor weddings—is that actually an option? Can a priest perform the ceremony outside?

I've read that some of the rules have changed recently, so I'm feeling a bit uncertain... plus, I can't get a hold of a priest right now. (Since I don't live in St., I figured I'd ask around here before I start locking everything in)🙂

Ugh, sorry if my last post sounded a bit awkward! What I’m actually looking for are venue ideas where we could hold the actual ceremony itself—you know, an outdoor wedding with an officiant, but not totally exposed to the elements. Like maybe a church courtyard in Castle Rock (near the Boundaries) or somewhere at those old ruins near the entrance (I think there's a pavilion there). I'm picturing an outdoor space that still has some kind of cover, just in case it rains so we aren't caught in a total disaster. Hopefully that makes more sense now! If anyone has any ideas, please let me know, because I have no clue if anything like that even exists in San Francisco or the surrounding areas. 😁

HM.. maybe Villa California (the old Marshall estate)? 🤔

Hey everyone, I could really use some expert advice. I’m on the hunt for a dress for an upcoming wedding, but it’s definitely not your typical white-wedding affair. It’s more of an intimate family dinner for about 20 people, so I have zero interest in a massive bridal gown—I just want something elegant and sophisticated. I’ve done a little bit of browsing around San Francisco, but honestly, nothing has really caught my eye yet. Mind you, I haven't done a deep dive into every single boutique, so if you have any specific recommendations, I would be incredibly grateful! I absolutely cannot stand anything tacky or over-the-top; I’m looking for something sleek that simply follows my silhouette. As for the color, I’m not particularly picky—in fact, I’m completely open to whatever looks best.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about him... plus, I've actually known him since I was a little kid, so it’s pretty obvious I should probably hire him! hahaha

The only thing I'm wondering is—I've never actually been to one of his parties before. Does he interact with the guests, or does he just stick to the mic and share small anecdotes?🙂

Does anyone have recommendations for a musician who could play at our place—specifically when they pick me up and we're waiting out front of the church? And please, I’m looking for something other than (just) an accordion player. Does anyone know what kind of budget I should set aside for that?

Also, I was wondering how much you all ended up spending on flowers? Any recent suggestions for florists? Thanks!

It really depends on what kind of floral vibe you're going for, because if you want full bouquets, you aren't looking at anything under $200, though the basics for the $1000 area should be around

Does anyone have the scoop on this venue? Looking for thoughts on the vibe, the service, the food, or the layout...
Has anyone actually been here? Was it worth it?

Thanks!

I have to chime in here... she did my makeup for a wedding once, and it was a total disaster.
Never again...

Can anyone share the contact for private lessons? Specifically for Lucy Spagnola?

I've reached out to them myself several times and—get this—it's been three weeks and still nothing...

you might have better luck messaging Euphoria Restaurant and Night Club on Facebook instead.
They've got new owners under the management now—and I actually already have an invite to a wedding there next summer—so they're definitely taking reservations.

Is it just me, or is this the second negative review I've heard about her lately? It feels like there might be some truth to the rumors when they start piling up like this... apparently, her "sessions" only last about 20 minutes—which, if you ask me, is nowhere near enough time for a professional look—not to mention she can be incredibly awkward while working on you, and she tries to book way too many clients in a single day.

Honestly, it was hands down the worst venue, service, and food I've ever dealt with.

Anyway, I’d always heard she was a total professional, nothing but praise.
So I went in thinking that if anything went wrong, it definitely wouldn't be the makeup.
Turns out, what a shock. 🤦
Basically, this girl is incredibly rude, arrogant, and acts like she's some big shot.
She works out of this tiny apartment where you can barely move; she just sticks two high stools in there and rushes through your face.
I showed her my dress, and she couldn't have cared less—didn't even look at how it was supposed to look. Just mumbled that she knew what she was doing.
The whole time, I felt totally awkward. While she was doing my lashes, she kept snapping at me, like "Oh my god, stop crying, get it together," acting all annoyed because I was supposedly distracting her from her "process."
What can I say? She's an idiot. Charging $117, yet yelling at people... maybe if the makeup were actually good, I could overlook it.

The makeup was a disaster. My foundation broke down after an hour; I was literally glowing like a Christmas tree, and everyone noticed. Even with my oily skin, I'm an amateur and this has never happened to me. Even in 100-degree heat, the foundation I put on myself lasts all day and night without budging. But with her? A "professional" who finishes in an hour? Nothing.
My lips looked colorless, like she just smeared some dried-out foundation on them. There was zero blush either, and when I asked for more, she just rolled her eyes and slapped on something minimal.
She overemphasized my eyebrows, which are already prominent, and honestly... I ended up looking worse than when I leave the house without any makeup at all.
