casualfalcon15 said:Hereโ€™s me after a few days ๐Ÿ™‚ and in those few days, I managed to get almost everything checked off my list ๐Ÿ™‚)) I see people asking about the "exclusive" optionsโ€”I already went and booked ๐Ÿ™‚ without a second thought. The meeting was great, very laid back. I walked away with plenty of info and some fresh ideas. Since I'm still not entirely sure what kind of floral vibe I want ๐Ÿ™‚, I'm playing it by ear. The Girls are pretty much booked up for the year, so if you're interested, move fast. The prices are solid; Iโ€™m really happy with it. You can work out all the details with them, and they pay attention to the little things, which I appreciate. Also, vases, glassware, mirrors, candles, crystals, and stuff like that? They don't charge extra. It's all included in the price. ๐Ÿ™‚ And yeah, that Valentine's gift. You pull the little packages out of the gift box and you just see what you get ๐Ÿ™‚)) If anyone has questions, feel free to ask.
As for Jak, I can't imagine going to her ๐Ÿ™‚ I've already made my reservations ๐Ÿ™‚>. Anyone who goes to either Jak or the local florist is going to see a massive difference. Especially when it comes to the quality of the work and the sheer volume of flowers. Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™ve heard, and looking at the photos, Iโ€™m convinced. But hey, it's your call; I trust everyone to pick what works best for them ๐Ÿ™‚
Now I just have the tent, lighting... a few more small things and I'm basically done!!! All in all, I AM BEYOND HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!

I'm also curious about the pricing for the girls at Exclusive Houston. Roughly how many people does that price cover? And what exactly did you settle on for that amount?

Every other hotel is further outโ€”especially that Gem hostel, which is practically outside the city limits. Your guests would end up having to hop in a car and drive several miles anyway... I don't quite get it. Besides, the Admiral offers discounts for wedding guests.

I know, but I need space for about 100 people, so the price difference matters if it's $33 and 135 per person... the bridal party and I will stay at the Hilton... but the groom is from San Francisco and his guests are coming from there, so we thought it might be better to have the gathering and reception at a different hotel rather than the Hilton where our wedding party is staying.
The Marriott holds 56 people, so most of our friends will probably end up there, while the rest of the guests can stay at the Hilton; we'll probably organize it that way so I don't have to add yet another hotel to the mix.๐Ÿ™‚

I actually found lighting in Indianapolis; if you're interested, I can pass along their info if you can't find anything else.

Me, at Studio 54!? Please. Send me a DM with who you contacted for the light and what the price was.

Is there any news on Mia?

Are you really sure you want to host guests there?
Did you check with Cibolet or maybe Slavi? Or even Vili? They tend to be a bit pricier, but for a group that large, I'm sure they'd be willing to work with us on the price.

We booked out almost the entire Marriott for that periodโ€”a few days before and a few days after. My husband and his relatives aren't even local. I made it crystal clear to everyone from the start: they cover their own lodging. Theyโ€™re just getting a group discount because of us, and thatโ€™s where I draw the line. It feels fair to me. Nobody has complained or taken offense; in fact, everyone is thrilled because the rates are so low. Honestly, I don't know how I would have managed if I were expected to foot the hotel bill for everyone.

I was just crunching the numbers yesterday to see what the guest lodging situation is gonna look like. There aren't tons of people coming, but still ๐Ÿ™‚

But honestly, Iโ€™d feel super awkward sayingโ€”hey, come celebrate our wedding, but you gotta cover your own hotel ๐Ÿคท
It's such a tough one ๐Ÿค”

I already touched on this in another thread, but I'll say it again here...

I've been to plenty of weddings, both here in the States and abroad, and nobody has ever picked up the tab for my lodging. I never felt it was expected, nor did I expect it (once, I even paid around $167 for a night's stay and no one complained). Honestly, I've never even heard of someone having their room paid for; it's the first time I've seen it mentioned on this forum (if that's even a thing people do). People, this is just standard practice nowadays. I think more folks would be surprised if I *did* pay for them rather than if I didn't... and no, I don't feel bad asking people to cover themselves. Maybe I'll get slightly smaller gifts because of it (that's usually how it works), but still...

You just tell them: the rooms are reserved for those who want to attend, but you'll need to handle your own booking and payment.
And that's that...

Hmm, maybe I'll just tell the crew this... I'm definitely footing the bill for my family (not that there are many of us), but I've got a huge circle of friends, and I'm honestly not sure how I'm gonna handle them all...

It's quite a drive, and since it's so expensive, they told their guests they'd handle the lodging because it wasn't much compared to beach prices. So, I'm wondering, what's the best and most affordable option for housing?
No one replied, so I haven't called Cibo or anyone else yet, and I haven't heard of the Ritz.
Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call and check.

Well, Iโ€™ve been to weddings where my hotel or rental house was actually covered; I basically had guaranteed lodging. Especially since people are traveling from one end of the country to the other. About 70% of the guests have never even been to the Midwest, so they shouldn't be wandering around looking for hotels. Itโ€™s better if everyone stays in one spot, especially since there's usually organized transport from a central location to go find the bride and groom.

That's why I figured we'd put the crew at the last-minute rate for Lady Gaga, because they don't really care where they stay if they aren't even going to sleepโ€”they'll probably just spend their time grabbing drinks or showering, so it isn't worth blowing money on fancy lodging... plus, they said themselves they don't mind... you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth $30๐Ÿ™‚
as for the older folks, we'll pay somewhere else, likely at the Ritz, since that's where our family and godparents usually go; Lady Gaga only holds 56 people, which is just enough for the group ๐Ÿ™‚

though that isn't our final plan... we're actually going to check out the Lady Gaga hostel during Easter first, because based on what everyone is saying here... it sounds pretty terrible.

Anyone know anything about the community hall over in that small town in Kansas? Like, do they actually have a website or something?? Thanks

Hey ladies!
Quick question... does anyone have recommendations for a good florist in St. Louis??
Basically, Iโ€™m obsessed with those Margaret-style floral spheres for my round tables. Has anyone actually used them? I'm trying to get a feel for the pricing, because every shop I call gives me a totally different quote!
Thanks a bunch.. talk soon ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ladies, would anyone be willing to recommend a budget-friendly local print shop around the Indianapolis or Memphis area? Iโ€™m planning to design my own invitations, so I just need simple single-sided printing on glossy paperโ€”nothing overly complicated. I checked with a printer in Indianapolis, and they quoted me $1.75 per invitation, which honestly feels like an absolute robbery ๐Ÿคท
The reason I'm asking is that I've seen pre-made invitation sets on sale for as little as $1.00... whereas all I really need is a basic 5x5 inch square print, without any folding, adhesive, or fancy imagery. ๐Ÿ˜•

Just print them yourself. Iโ€™ve been doing my own 4x4 glossy prints since I was fourteen... You just wait for them to dry, or follow some girl's advice and spray them with hairspray so they don't smudge.

Hey everyone, new girl checking in!
Alright, so the wedding is set for September 30th, 2011, at the Classic Ballroom. We've already booked a quartet out of Indianapolis, Leon Productions is handling the photos, and we're getting the desserts from that bakery in rural Indiana. Catering and servers are all sorted, too. The only thing left is the flowers, and honestly, itโ€™s becoming a total nightmare. Does anyone know what the pricing looks like over at Palm or Stella in the suburbs? Also, does anyone have the scoop on Jack, who lives out near Ivanhoe? How do I even get out to his place?

I actually ran into Stella at a wedding expo in Indianapolis once, and based on what I was looking for back then, she seemed super affordable! Plus, her work wasn't half bad either!
As for Jack, I don't have his number. But maybe try searching for Jack Majpruz on Meta and send him a message asking for his cell? I bet one of the girls here has his number and can shoot you a DM.๐Ÿ˜‰

I didn't make it to the expo myself, but my mom did... and she was totally blown away!!! I checked their prices on Meta, and they told me they could customize everything to fit whatever we wanted, but you can really pull off some miracles for under $1000.

To be honest, I actually dug Palma's work more after seeing her stuff online. Plus, they weren't pricey at all and she was just such a sweetheart! ๐Ÿ™‚

The more I stare at these flower photos and browse through all these different florists, the more indecisive I get! Itโ€™s driving me crazy!!!!
