Help me out here!
Has anyone actually bought or maybe spotted that white tulle used for making bows? I was thinking about using it to decorate church pews, for example. 🤷

I'm not sure where you're based, but... you can find that stuff at a Home Depot in Indianapolis, though they'll charge you an arm and a leg. You could also look around the Midwest or even grab it online if you don't want to deal with the hassle.
how much tile are you planning on using for one heavy layer?

Walter Moore5 said:Has anyone ever ordered flowers from the Palm Beach florist in Savannah?
I just saw their booth at the trade show and their work looks great. Their prices seemed pretty reasonable too, so I was wondering if anyone here has actually used them before?

Also, what’s the general price range for flower arrangements lately? Does anyone have a recommendation for a good, budget-friendly spot?

I’ve heard they do good work, but they charge a premium. Then again, I don't trust hearsay. You can find their page on Facebook—there are plenty of photos there—but honestly, looking at their portfolio, I’m not exactly sold on their style.

I have no clue how prices are moving these days. Honestly, I was floored by the cost of those decorative spheres. I really wanted those live flower arrangements on the tables, but that’s only happening if I hit the jackpot in the lottery, lol. 😁

Anthony Hall83 said:I have to say, I am just as disappointed with the expo as everyone else—I honestly expected so much more from the whole experience! We were really hoping to scout out a photographer while walking the aisles, but looking at the lineup they had there, not a single one caught my eye... nothing even remotely interesting. What do you all think—will it be too late if we wait until January to start our search? Our wedding isn't until September, so I'm wondering if we still have plenty of runway left...

Isn't it a bit late for you to be checking Facebook Leon Productions at 1:00 AM?
Check out Facebook Leon Productions—those guys are phenomenal, though they aren't exactly cheap. If you're looking for options, there's also Click Photo out of Savannah. I had some shots done by them the other day, and honestly, the way he curated the wedding album was incredible. I'm not just saying they're good; they're top-tier. Their work in the shop is killer, too. You can find plenty of their stuff on Facebook if you want to see for yourself. The quality is seriously impressive.
Blic Videostudio is also out of Savannah. Hard to say if they're any good—they don't exactly flood their Facebook with work—but I'm sure they're lurking around somewhere.
Photo Mara from White Monastery is also top-tier, but he told me he’s done with video. He's sticking strictly to photography now.
There. Hopefully, that helped a little. 😁

If anyone’s still hunting for a venue, there’s a new hall over in Kozarac on the main road heading toward White Monastery. It just opened about five months ago. It holds up to 300 people—plenty of space, and honestly, the food is great. If you want the specifics, shoot me a DM.

Thanks for the help 😍
Leon Productions is just way out of my budget, and honestly, Click seems like a pretty solid deal given what they charge... I think I'll hold off until the January trade show before I make my final call 🙂

Anyone know what the pricing looks like at the Exclusive flower shop over in El Paso? Everything in these photos looks incredible, but I have a feeling it might break the bank.
Ljubičica from Indianapolis is in the same boat—no clue what their rates are like.

Hey girls, I thought I'd jump in and help out a little too!
Regarding the photographer, I feel like choosing someone based on just the first option might be a bit tight for you; it's definitely not impossible, but you'll probably end up limiting your choices way more than you should.
It really all comes down to what kind of vibe you're going for, and honestly, most photographers are pretty willing to go the extra mile if you ask them nicely.
I could recommend our usual guy, but he’s actually quite pricey this year—his rate is sitting around $1,000$0.00—and the big question is whether he's even available on your date.

As for the Exclusive crew from El Paso, we actually used them once. They’re pretty expensive because they're so popular, but I have to say, I had quite a few issues with them.
For instance, they did my table arrangements with pink flowers when I specifically asked for purple ones.
The bouquet was this weird lilac color and didn't really have all the specific blooms I requested, plus the ribbon started falling apart right after the wedding ended, and $167 I still had to pay full price for it.
The centerpieces were about $10 per table, and the main one was $300, if I remember correctly. It honestly makes me a little upset because they charged me about $160 in travel fees that were never even mentioned during our initial talks—they only brought it up right when it was time to settle the bill.
I can't help but think they tacked that on because I had a gift voucher worth $167, so I guess it all balanced out in the end anyway.

On a totally different note, I actually made my own church bows using that clear plastic sheeting they use to cover salad greens at the grocery store, and they looked surprisingly great! If my memory serves me right, it cost me about thirty bucks for a 10-meter roll.

Prehrana d.o.o out of St. Louis has an office right near the train station. I think the director's daughter actually runs the show there—Catering Bugarin, if I recall correctly—and her name is Ivanna. They handed me one of their brochures during our meeting, but honestly? Their prices are steep. Then again, maybe it’s just me. If you have your own backyard to cook in, paying for any catering feels like throwing money straight into the trash.

Look, they bring everything—full setup, tents, linens, glassware, the whole nine yards. Everything looks high-end and perfectly coordinated. If you aren't sweating the price tag, they’re top-tier. 🙂

Check out this link for food service equipment: http://www.prehrana.net/prehrana-oprema.html Here are the details.

Here’s a quick rundown of our wedding on October 22nd.
The florist at Nena otok handled his floral arch, while I took care of the flowers for our table. His sister and her godmother gave us four roses, and my sister and her boyfriend made an arch out of four roses for when we walked out of the church. We rented four baskets, used a faux bouquet of five roses and plenty of baby's breath (since we went to my vineyard for photos two days prior), plus my actual rose bouquet, his boutonniere, the car, and I can't remember if I missed anything else—it all added up to about $533..

The venue, Elegant otok—honestly, the hall was wonderful, and the food too. As far as I know, nobody had any complaints... They did everything they were supposed to do perfectly. If I were ever to get married again, I'd choose this hall all over again, haha... All praise to them!

The band (I think they're called) Chista Petica or something similar—they have mus singing. Such a great band, too; they played our song maybe 4 or 5 times. They really stayed as long as people were there, even playing when there were only 10 guests left... They cost about $1,300.

Photographer Krizmanić—I have both praise and some complaints for him. On the plus side, he was kind enough to drive from Indianapolis to Slakovac two days before the wedding just for our photo shoot without charging extra. On the downside, it's terrible that they didn't film the gift exchange or the songs I specifically requested. For the $7,200 package, you get three DVD sets (one for the parents and one for us), about five large A4 prints, roughly 700 digital photos, and about 300 of those are printed in the album.

I think that covers everything... I hope this helps someone out!

Those two shops definitely caught my eye too 🙂 Based on what the girls on the forums are saying about their experiences with Exclusiv, it seems like they might be getting a little too big for their boots... 🤣 So, I think I’ll check in with ljubičica first. I saw their arrangements in person at a wedding recently and they were gorgeous—plus, I haven't heard any horror stories about them yet. I don't know about the prices just yet, but I'll find out soon enough and let you all know... 😉

Question?
I’m thinking about ordering a dress from Lilly / Sally, but I can't help wondering if I'm getting ahead of myself... since the big day isn't until June 30th, 2012.
I'm such a nervous wreck...
I’m honestly terrified to order anything this early—what if my weight fluctuates? I tend to go through those phases where I suddenly drop weight or put it back on; it’s never a massive shift, maybe just a few pounds, but still...
And then there's the other side of the fear: what if I wait too long to order, the fit ends up being wrong, and I don't have enough time to rent something else instead...🤣
I'm such a nervous wreck...

I’d say just go ahead and order it now, especially if you’ve got some binding coming up later on—that way you won't have anything to stress about. Maybe ask them to include an extra inch or so of material inside just in case you end up needing to loosen it up or something like that. It'll probably take about a month to arrive, but once it's here, you can just relax and not worry about it anymore.

Robin Chase7, thanks a million.
That’s exactly what I was thinking, but I just needed someone to tell me I wasn't crazy... 😁

So, come on, give me the scoop—how’s married life treating you?😍

We mostly just lean on each other whenever one of us is feeling totally burnt out on studying 😬
I really should be getting back to my college coursework, but he’s got this big work certification exam coming up, so we’re both just sitting here commiserating about it

I try to pop in and check on everyone here every once in a while just to see if anyone needs a hand, because honestly, I think this forum pretty much saved me when things were rough 😁

I honestly don’t even want to think about my university degree right now... I’m currently taking a complete break from school—I didn't even enroll for this academic year.🤷
Next year, I plan to get back into it once I’ve managed to scrape together whatever bits of strength and willpower I had left at the very beginning...

Taylor Kelly2, what can I even say... I've only managed to pass one exam in the last two years, and honestly, I had prepared for it three years ago because it was such a breeze.
It’s all because of work, too... I spent my entire life being dragged to these endless corporate training seminars instead of actually studying... and now, after three years of grinding, they aren't even renewing my contract...
If I had just focused on school, I'd probably be finished by now....🙂

Hey everyone, I’m back! It’s been a little while, but I’ve mostly sorted out my small headaches. One big update: the wedding we had planned for May is officially postponed until fall or maybe even the end of the year. My main worry now is whether I can still snag a venue. I’m still a bit confused about what Jeremiah was saying regarding their hall, but V&S seems pretty solid to me. Has anyone here actually held their wedding at one of their venues?

Looking back through the thread, I see some people saying they’re an exclusive crowd and acting like they're too good for us—I honestly find that hard to believe. I've had my heart set on them for a while; I can't stop scrolling through their gorgeous photos, ugh, they're stunning. I really hope they aren't actually like that. I’ve attended two weddings where they worked, and everything was absolutely perfect. As for the pricing, I haven't chatted with anyone about the specifics yet. I know one person there, so I'll give her a call to get a ballpark figure and let you all know. Once the venue is booked, I'm going to head over there in person. At least a consultation is free, so I have nothing to lose. At least then I'll know exactly where I stand.

I haven't even finished paying off my first year yet, but I guess I'm already stuck dealing with two years' worth of back payments that piled up on me because I was too busy playing wedding planner for everyone else.
So I can get a better sense of how everyone is doing... oh man, I just know!
