Ladies, I need help here! 🙂
I've got a wedding coming up in September and I'm totally lost on what's actually in bloom then. I wouldn't call myself a flower person, but I'm obsessed with gerberas. Is that even an "appropriate" choice for a bouquet or decorating the venue?

Could you guys please shoot me a DM with the info for any folk bands you had play at your wedding? And I don't mean just background music, I mean a full group playing in the hall. Also, does anyone have a ballpark idea of what these groups usually charge? I already sent out a bunch of emails yesterday, but so far... crickets. Total silence. So yeah, I am begging for some help here. Our big day is October 6th, 2012, in Pasadena.

Check out TS Crystal from Županja. They're solid, and I don't think they'll break the bank..

Does anyone know where I can order wedding desserts out in the Midwest, specifically around the Indianapolis area? Also, does anyone have a ballpark idea of what the prices are looking like these days?

Does anyone happen to know where I can book a wedding light show in a place like Indianapolis? I’m looking for something pretty low-key—just some basic color washes for the ballroom and maybe some bubble machines. Nothing fancy like smoke effects or having names projected onto the walls and stuff.
Maybe someone could give me an idea of what the pricing looks like for something like that?

I’m using Lightshow for my wedding. You can find them on Facebook under that name, or just check out their website.http://www.lightshow-vjencanja.com/
You can reach out to them directly.

The guy's name is Igor, and he's easy enough to deal with. Price varies depending on the venue. I’m not sure if he’ll give you a discount since you want less stuff, but when I asked if things like smoke or bubbles cost extra, he said no—everything he has is included in whatever price we settle on. Hard to say if that helps you, but for a huge hall like the one Maticevic owns, it’s going to run me about $3,000. Or maybe $3,500, I can't remember exactly.

Hey ladies, does anyone here have any firsthand experience with Salaša ten?
I’m asking because I'm looking into it for a wedding.

That really just comes down to your own personal taste. 😉
In my opinion—gerberas aren't quite right for a handheld bouquet, but they work beautifully in centerpieces since they are so bold and budget-friendly.
It all depends on your color scheme: if you go with lavender, perhaps include some lavender; if it's yellow, maybe sunflowers? Or if the theme is white, you could pair calla lilies with roses—which feel almost mandatory at this point.

Ryan Flores81, there's a spot about 25 miles outside of Indianapolis. Prices are roughly $20/lb. Just hit up "Podgorač Bakery" on Facebook. I've been ordering from them for ages—they look great and actually taste good too, which isn't saying much these days. I already booked them for a wedding in seven months.

We rented a ranch there for a bachelor/bachelorette party 🙂 and for a brunch the day after the wedding.
Everything went fine. DM me if you want specifics. 🙂

I’m asking because I'm looking into it for a wedding.

I was there about two years ago and had a wonderful time.
The guest list was smaller, maybe around 60 people, but it felt incredibly cozy. The kids were running wild on that playground out there—they had a blast.
From what I understand, they’ve renovated the place since then to accommodate larger crowds.

Anyway, the photos turned out absolutely stunning!

Hey there, everyone in the Midwest..

Just wanted to drop some quick feedback regarding salo Đeram and how they run things..

We had some issues; the food was lukewarm at best, the wine seemed watered down, and then, when it came time to settle the bill, the owner suddenly tacked on $167 extra electricity charges for the lighting we used in the hall. He claimed we’d have avoided this if we had just used his house lights instead. There was absolutely NO mention of those $167 costs during our initial agreement. On top of that, we had to move our date from May to February—which we gave them plenty of notice for—and they charged us an extra $1000 because of the heating. If we had just canceled, we probably would've lost the $1667 deposit we already paid, so we didn't really have a choice. Long story short: if we were starting over, we wouldn't pick this venue again..

Cheers from a married woman!

I was wondering what you all think about booking the Search for Tamburaš band for weddings? Does anyone know what their typical rates look like, and more importantly, how would you rate their performance quality? Feel free to shoot me a DM if you'd rather chat privately.

Hey Lady... I haven't actually caught them live myself, but I've heard from a few buddies that they're pretty solid. A friend of mine actually booked them for her wedding this September. She mentioned they're charging around $1,500. If you need more intel, I can always bug her for details.

Just wanted to share a little win: we finally sorted out the cookies (the ones from Katina’s bakery in Indianapolis), and both my mom and mother-in-law are thrilled 😁. At long last... and I just finalized the flower arrangements today too ☕. Now I'm left wondering what else there is to do?!

Jacob Grant said:Valentinovk, how did you even get all that booze across the border?! I thought they only let small amounts through! 🤷

Easy does it, colleague.
Just a few crates here and there—nothing major—every single week (and while I'm at it, I always make sure to top off the gas tank in some small town along the way, haha).... I wasn't exactly planning on loading up a semi-truck all at once! 🙂

Greetings, everyone!!!
I was wondering if anyone could lend me a hand with a quick question.
Does anyone happen to know the typical rental rates for event halls in cities like Indianapolis or Columbus? I'm just looking for a rough estimate for a group of about 150 to 200 people.

Nancy, I can actually give you the lowdown on the Admiral in VC since I've done weddings there before. Their menus run anywhere from $225 up to $45 per person.
The specific menu I went with was $195, and honestly, everything was great except for the side salad they served with the pork, the heavy sides, and the Hunter. If you wanted that exact same spread over at Lucia, you’d probably be looking at closer to $47.
If you want, I can dig up the formal quote from the Admiral... actually, I might even have one from Lucia tucked away somewhere.
Just shoot me a DM with your email if you want me to send it over.

The price gap between just renting the hall versus the full wedding package per guest is 🙂

Rental fees usually hover around $15 $0.00

Hey there... I was wondering if anyone here has actually checked out the Babylon band lately. What’s the verdict? Also, does anyone happen to know what they're charging these days? 🙂
