dustysurfer5, huge congratulations to you!!!! 😁 It was seriously so sweet of you to reach out and check in even after the wedding madness settled down! I am just so incredibly happy to hear that everything went off without a hitch 🙂 Now you can finally kick back and just soak up that whole newlywed life 🙂 😁 😉

Hey everyone, does anyone happen to know if there are any light show companies that do weddings? I’ve been getting really into the idea lately and think it could be such a vibe... I'm specifically looking for options around Indianapolis and was wondering about what kind of pricing we're talking about these days. Thanks! 😁

dustysurfer5, why wouldn't you just hit up Line for your makeup? I was actually thinking about going there myself—honestly, anything to avoid Livia...

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea what their makeup services are actually like, but my history with them isn't exactly stellar—🤷 and I'm not even talking about makeup, just some other treatments they offer—which is why I mentioned that personally I wouldn't dream of going there, though by all means, if someone else wants to, be my guest.
Since I've actually completed a professional makeup artist certification, I tend to be—shall we say—extremely demanding when it comes to cosmetics 🙄 and it is absolutely vital to me that the products used are high-end and the application is flawless.
As for Livia, I've heard nothing but glowing reviews, but there is one thing that drives me absolutely mad: even if you try to book six months in advance, they won't even bother confirming whether they can actually take you until a mere 20 days before the appointment...😕 so, naturally, I've given up on them entirely.
In the end, I've decided to go with Grainger.👍

Hi everyone!!
Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid photographer in Indianapolis or the surrounding areas???
Has anyone here actually worked with Infinity studio in Indy??? Based on what I’ve seen on their website, they seem to offer exactly the style I'm looking for, but I’ve heard some pretty bad things about them—specifically that people are waiting forever to get their wedding photos on disc, sometimes six months or even longer!!!! If anyone has personally dealt with them, please let me know!!
I’ve also heard that quite a few people from Indianapolis end up hiring photographers from Savannah, so if you know someone great down there, please share!!
Any advice at all would be much appreciated!!

There are already a few comments regarding Savannah photographers on this page and the previous one.👍

Man, you can't find any decent shoes in Indianapolis anymore... I honestly didn't even want to say "wow," but seriously, it's a struggle.

madima150, we always do a full light show for our weddings—we actually booked ours through Leon Studio out in Chicago. Between the room coloring and the light show for a dance floor that’s about 5,600 sq ft, it's gonna run us around 6,$167.

You must be from Indianapolis if you had your reception at the Sphere. 😉 We're getting married on May 8th at the Zoo Hotel... I really hope everything goes as smoothly as yours did 😉 and that there's enough food for everyone... ours is an all-inclusive package where everything is covered. Would you mind posting a few photos so we can see you and your groom, the vibe, and the flowers? 😉 Mark is making my wedding bouquet, so I'm sure it's going to be gorgeous!😉

I’d love to post some pictures, but I honestly can't figure out how—it keeps telling me the file size is too large. 🤷 I have one shot where the table looks great. I should get the professional photos next week. There's one specifically where the bouquet looks amazing. If you can explain how to upload them, I'll gladly share a few so you guys can see. 🙂

Just head over to Imageshack.us, upload your photos there, and then simply paste the link right here. Perhaps that would be a more convenient approach for you—if you can't quite manage to post them directly... 😉

And, of course, congratulations—I wish you both nothing but the very best!🙂

Man, I don't know... that just feels like a massive amount of money to 🤷

rowdypanther16,
We ended up hiring a guy out of San Bernardino for our light show. If I remember correctly, it’ll run you about 3-$$1667, though that depends on which package you pick (we grabbed ours right when he was starting out two years ago for a steal). I can shoot you his info if you want.

dustysurfer5 said:When it comes to getting your makeup done in Pittsburgh—assuming you actually want someone who knows what they’re doing—people tend to point toward Livia’s salon. At least, that's the word on the street... though I personally gave up on them quite some time ago, but that is a whole other story entirely. Then there is the Grainger perfume shop, which is another reliable option. You could also look into Valentino, Line, or Jane for services, but frankly, I wouldn't dream of booking a makeup appointment with them myself. It is all a bit inconvenient, isn't it? You rarely have much breathing room because most women book their slots months in advance—it's a bit of a logistical headache—but I suppose you could try asking.
Where exactly were you—I mean, where could you have possibly wandered off to—that allowed things to get this filled up?

Livy is booked solid, and I have no clue about the others.
Look, I know I'm short on time, but I don't live in Slough! I had no idea when I'd actually make it into town before the wedding, so I didn't want to make things complicated.
I guess I'll give Martimex a shot.

Hey girls, I’m honestly having a bit of an identity crisis here... 🤷
I’ve been thinking about adding a light show to the wedding, but I’m really not sure if it’ll clash with the live folk band... what do you guys think?
I stumbled upon this listing online, so I’m probably gonna give them a call to see what the deal is.

Does anyone happen to know exactly what kind of performance they actually put on?

rowdypanther16 said:Hey girls, I need some serious help! 😁 Does anyone know a killer lash technician in Indianapolis who can do a really clean, beautiful job with extensions? I’m looking for someone who actually knows what they’re doing and won't mess up my face. A solid recommendation would be amazing right about now. 🙂 Thanks so much in advance! 😉

I’ve got an amazing wife from Indianapolis, so if you're interested, just shoot me a private message.
I see you're looking for a makeup artist too, so I can definitely give her my recommendation again.
I used to struggle so much with my skin being incredibly oily; whenever I actually sat down to apply makeup, everything would just slide right off my face.
When she finally finished my makeup, I was honestly speechless. I couldn't believe the transformation—it was like looking at a completely different person.

Oh man, thank goodness! I FINALLY found a makeup artist I actually love, 😁 but I'm still totally struggling with my lashes. Could you please DM me her number? And if it's not too much trouble, let me know where she's located. 🤷 Thank youuuu sooooo much! 👍 It feels like nobody else even responds to my posts on this forum anymore. 🙄 😛😉

Hey, Christian Taylor8, please send over that contact! I'm definitely gonna give him a ring to see what's up... honestly, I've been getting pretty hyped about the idea of a light show lately, so I might just dive into it. 🙄 thanks👍

Gregory Price11 said:Well, I suppose everyone has their own opinion. For my part, Ilya produced a total catastrophe for my graduation photos (I know that's not a wedding, but still), and "catastrophe" is putting it mildly. Then, this past summer, I knew a few people he filmed, and they all complained. So, I decided to pass on him entirely based on both my own experience and what I heard from others. To me, the photos are absolutely vital, and I simply couldn't risk being disappointed all over again.😲

I actually used Elijah for my wedding a few months ago, and he was fantastic. The shots are stunning... truly beautiful. He shot my best friend's wedding too, and it was snowing that day, but her photos turned out even better. So, there you go. My DVD is totally fine. Look, I didn't make things difficult—that's just not who I am—but everything really depends on the vibe at the wedding. You can't produce something "wow" if the party is boring. In my case, it wasn't hard for him at all because he stayed until 5 AM filming. The crowd was so energetic that he managed to catch almost everything.

rowdypanther16, here’s the contact info. Total coincidence.
Anyway, I’ve seen one of these setups in person before. Honestly, my mind was blown when I saw them hitting the lasers, the gobo lights, the color washes, the fog, and the bubbles all at once... and that was just during a ten-minute Midwest folk dance set, but still...🙄
Then the guy walked up to us and said he just wanted to show off his gear since we only had about 15 minutes to watch him work "on-site."
We hashed out the details, including which colors I definitely don't want. He tried to push back a little, saying stuff like, "Why only green? You won't get the full effect of the light show," but I wasn't having any of it—at the end of the day, I'm the one paying.

So, what price did you guys settle on? The ad says $500, but that seems kind of low to me 🤷
