So, I’ve been dealing with this low-grade fever for about ten days now. It usually crawls its way up to 100.4°F in the evenings... though it hasn't quite hit that mark the last couple of nights. During the day, I’m mostly hovering around 99.5°F by late afternoon, and then it disappears entirely by morning. Honestly, I spent basically the whole month of December fighting off a cold that just wouldn't quit, and once we passed New Year's, it morphed into some sort of lingering viral thing. The coughing was brutal—really deep, chesty stuff. It’s subsided a bit, but now my throat is acting up and I have this nagging sensation that my sinuses are starting to inflame...
My doctor mentioned it could easily be an adenovirus. I guess I'm wondering if anyone else here has dealt with this kind of drawn-out, "not quite sick but definitely not well" limbo for this long...🤷 My blood work came back mostly fine, with the exception of my lymphocyte count and liver enzymes. They're going to monitor whether those levels continue to climb to see if we're actually looking at mononucleosis, but the doctor isn't holding her breath... most of the classic symptoms are either pretty mild or just non-existent.
