Freak sighting

My left eye feels a little blurry lately. But if I press against my eyelid just a bit, everything snaps back into focus. WTF. Anyone know what might be causing that?

It might not be anything too serious, I guess, but I know some folks who had these exact same symptoms and ended up having a retinal detachment, where the vision layer basically peels away from the eye. Usually, they just get surgery and everything goes back to normal, but in any case, I’d really recommend heading straight to an eye doctor for some tests right away. You shouldn't mess around with your eyesight, because even if it turns out to be nothing, you never truly know, right?

It sounds like it could be astigmatism.
It’s usually nothing to worry about—honestly, most people have at least a little bit of it—and it basically just means you'd see much better with some glasses.
I actually deal with the exact same thing! If I press on my eye under my eyelid, it clears up, but since I already wear glasses to correct my astigmatism, it doesn't actually make the image any sharper than it already is.

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I dug up online too. The symptoms are almost identical, though I didn't catch it sooner—maybe I just dinged myself pretty hard, if I remember correctly. Either way, I'm heading to the doctor to get checked out and see what's actually going on. Thanks.

Well, I suppose I can't just brush this off anymore... I think it's time I go see a specialist🙂
