MTA sightings

Alright.
Does anyone actually wrap their head around this new MTA system and pricing? I'm trying to figure out what a monthly pass for both the MTA and Amtrak would cost me now. Since I'm a full-time student (is there a discount for that?), and I’m already coming from the GSA side, what am I looking at?

Is it even worth just grabbing a single month right now to cover some immediate stuff... before I commit to a full year once school starts up?

$28 It’s monthly..

If you have a lot going on and you're riding constantly, it's better to just pay $28 instead of dropping $3.25 every single time on individual tickets. Transit police are everywhere lately.. 😠
