Gaming PC build ideas?

Hey,
looking for some desktop gaming build advice. Budget is around $700.
Need everything: case, mouse, keyboard, monitor, speakers.
Ideally something I can put on a credit card.

Oof... that’s honestly not much money to work with if you want a full gaming rig plus some room for credit card payments.

What kind of specs are you actually looking for, and what games are you planning to play?

Roughly speaking, for that budget, you might be able to squeeze together an Intel Pentium Gold, maybe an RX 560, 8GB of RAM, and perhaps a Samsung SSD, assuming everything else is the cheapest option available that isn't total junk.😬

I would personally suggest exercising a bit of patience and attempting to increase your budget, as you will likely find yourself quite frustrated with the underwhelming configuration you'll receive otherwise if you stick to this amount.

So, maybe go with an Intel Core? Just running without a dedicated GPU for now, or if it fits, grab an Intel Core... Could be a way to put something together...

Both seem about equally worth it, though I guess the RX 580 is slightly more powerful.

$33 You could save money by doing this:

Swap the 2400G for a 2200G and you save $167 right there. Ditch the SSD to save another $67. Pick up a used case for $17 at a thrift store. Genius makes decent optical mice for $12. Grab the cheapest Genius keyboard and you'll have enough left over for a used GTX 1050... maybe even one with a warranty...

I'd definitely check the integrated graphics performance before buying a dedicated card...

Finally decided it's time to ditch my 6-year-old rig.

I'm looking to build a new gaming PC and I've got about $2,200 set aside for it.

I already have a monitor—an LG UltraWide Monitor I picked up recently—so I just need the tower itself.

I'll be paying cash on delivery.

Rough estimate:

Intel Core i5 8600K($767)
RTX 2080 with a 3-year warranty($2167)
16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz($367)
Gigabyte Z390 UD (maybe a GTX 1050 upgrade later)($367)
CPU cooler (probably $30-$$117)
Case of your choice, say maybe $70-$267
A 250GB Samsung 970 EVO for the boot drive($217), a 500GB Crucial MX500($230) for games, and a 1TB HDD for extra storage($100)
A Seasonic or Corsair 550W/650W 80+ Gold power supply—roughly $267

Since you told me to hit you up with more questions, I'm thinking about grabbing a Logitech G29 wheel. I'd mostly be using it for Euro Truck and American Truck Simulator. Is that a solid move, or should I look for something else in that same price range?

I think the Thrustmaster is probably the better pick, though you're missing out on the clutch. I definitely wouldn't pay more than $400 for a used G7, especially since you can sometimes find them brand new for around 1500-$533.
