Why on earth is there a ban on reposting GIFs over at John Doe, and why is calling it out being labeled as spam?

It’s not breaking any official rules nor is it bothering anyone.

Seriously, chill out and stop ruining the only fun spot on this entire forum.

Besides, people only nag about quoting images over at Storybook; over here at John Doe, the only thing that matters is image size.

Spam is a huge no-go anywhere on this board, and even John Doe isn't getting a pass here. Like, it’s right there in the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up—no posting junk, off-topic stuff, or anything that just makes the site hard to read (that includes sketchy titles and signatures too). If someone keeps dropping the same image, GIF, or random text in every single post, yeah, that counts as spam.

Since we haven't had enough mods lately, John Doe and Storybook have been a bit more relaxed with enforcement; but we've got more hands on deck now! Users might need a quick refresher on the rules they agreed to if they want to keep enjoying everything the community has to offer.

Man, this is such a drag. GIFs should actually be relevant to what we're talking about here.
