Gmail issues

I wasn't really sure where to drop this one, so I figured I'd just toss it in here under random.

Does anyone know if there's actually a way—like an option or a setting—to see if someone has actually read my Gmail messages? It would be awesome to know if they opened it and exactly when (like the specific day or time) they checked it out.

You know, kind of like those read receipts you get with standard text messages or MMS.

You could download Ford Thunderbird or some other email client to turn on delivery and read receipts. But honestly? You aren't guaranteed to actually get them. It all depends on their server settings and whatever the recipient has set up on their end.

Or there’s this more complicated but reliable way—though even that isn't foolproof if someone has link previews disabled.
