Interesting first day. The home crowd has been pretty obnoxious, honestly, but Europe clawing back to a 3-1 lead in the fourballs gives us some hope.

Today, we’ll see how the last two rookies handle the pressure for Europe (Wood and Fitzpatrick).
The American captain, Davis Love III, has already set his pairings and isn't budging, while Darren Clarke is still playing around with his combinations.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Kaymer or Westwood out on the course this Saturday.

The Spaniards should definitely be playing this afternoon. I'm guessing Rory will pair up with Pieters again, maybe Stenson and Rosa, and the fourth group could be Sullivan with Willet. That Masters winner actually played a decent round on Friday afternoon—way better than Kaymer did.

The Americans are looking seriously strong this year; their putting is just on another level. Once they get a little momentum going, it's hard to stop them.

That was such a nightmare match between Spieth and Reed, plus Cabrer Bello and Garcia... I guess the Americans held the lead for four holes just to end up tied one hole before the finish... wow...

I guess Rory is just absolutely tearing it up today... he's playing out of his mind!

Not much to debate here. The Americans were just better all three days and earned that win.
They had plenty of momentum, and even some of the guys coming from behind like Snedeker and Koepka played great.

On the European side, too many players looked either shaky or just completely out of form. Westwood, Willett, Sullivan, and Fitzpatrick didn't show up at all. Kaymer managed to snag the first point on Sunday when things were already wrapped up. At least Pieters and Cabrer Bella put up some decent numbers. Actually, with 4 points total, Pieters was the standout performer for both teams.

Dustin Johnson fell down some stairs and is out of The Masters🤦
