Hormonal Contraception: The Pill [General Discussion]

Well, here I am again. 😢(((
About three or four weeks ago, a girl started taking Trinovum. She followed the instructions and began on day one of her period. Then, this morning, she experienced some spotting, which felt odd since it’s about five days early. Apparently, nothing happens after 4:00 PM and there aren't any other symptoms, though there is this constant, slight leaking.
I guess, maybe, is this just a side effect from the pills, or could it be something more serious?

Who knows! It could honestly be from birth control—my OB-GYN mentioned that it might just be something my body goes through while I'm still adjusting to them.

It’s leaking again today.🤷

It's just some spotting—totally normal during the first few months on the pill. According to the Yasmin instructions, if this keeps happening for several months, you should go see a gynecologist.

LOGEST
Each film-coated tablet contains 75 mcg of gestodene and 20 mcg of ethinylestradiol.
YAZ
Contains 3 mg of drospirenone and 20 mg of ethinylestradiol.
YASMIN
Contains 3 mg of drospirenone and 30 mg of ethinylestradiol.
DIANE-35
Contains 2 mg of cyproterone acetate and 0.035 mg of ethinylestradiol.
CILEST
Ethinylestradiol 35 mcg, norgestimate 250 mcg.
TRIQUILAR
contains
one reddish-brown film-coated tablet containing: 0.050 mg levonorgestrel and 0.030 mg ethinylestradiol;
one white film-coated tablet containing: 0.075 mg levonorgestrel and 0.040 mg ethinylestradiol;
one dark yellow film-coated tablet containing: 0.125 mg levonorgestrel and 0.030 mg ethinylestradiol.
Excipients: iron oxide, yellow (E 172), iron oxide, red (E 172), lactose hydrate, corn starch, sucrose, titanium dioxide (E 171).
Looking at these numbers, how on earth can anyone claim Yaz or Yasmin have fewer hormones than Cilest? I’ve seen discussions elsewhere claiming Cilest is actually "heavier" or stronger.
Does anyone here actually understand the pharmacology behind this? Can someone explain the logic?

So, here’s the situation—I took the pill yesterday around 8:00 PM, but then by about 2:00 AM, I was throwing up.
Then this morning, I went ahead and took the second dose right away, only to end up vomiting again—so now I’m just sitting here totally lost on what to do next.🙂
I haven't really dealt with this before, but I was reading through the instructions, and it says that if you vomit less than four hours after taking the pill, there's a chance it wasn't actually absorbed—meaning I might need to take another one as if I'd just forgotten entirely.🤷

I feel like there was way too much time between you taking that pill at 8 and throwing up at 2 for it to actually kick in 🤷 If I were you, I totally wouldn't take that morning pill again

The instructions state that if you vomit or have diarrhea within 3–4 hours of taking the pill, you need to take another dose. It’s been much longer than that for you, 😉.
Are we talking about 8:00 AM or in the evening? In my opinion, regardless of the timing, there isn't any need for a second dose. When exactly did the vomiting happen again?

I know what the instructions say—really, I do—and I’m fully aware that several hours have already slipped by since then.
Basically, I took the pill around 8:00 PM last night 🙂 (and then ended up throwing up around 2:00 AM),
and then there was more vomiting this morning around 11:00 AM—which happened after I took another tablet at about 9:00 AM.

You probably shouldn't have taken that second pill... but since you were throwing up this morning, I guess your hormone levels from the meds are actually fine!

Okay, thanks.🙂
I mean—I know I shouldn't have taken that extra one, but honestly, the panic just kind of took over at the moment.😁

I’ve been on the pill for two years straight, and I just finished my last pack this month. What am I actually looking at now that I'm stopping? I read somewhere about stuff like hair loss and absolutely chaotic periods. Is that legit?😢
Second thing—if I ever decide I need to get back on them (God forbid 😕), will having taken this break make things worse than if I had just stayed on them continuously?

So, I’ve been drinking for about six months now—well, let’s just say I’ve been experimenting—and I noticed some changes. Nothing crazy, but I started seeing these tiny little dark hairs on my chest, a few under my bottom lip, and stuff like that.😢

So... since I moved to a new city, I've been trying to switch my gynecologist over too. I have an appointment set for Friday, but that’s right when my period is gonna start. The whole problem is, if I push it back, I’m stuck waiting another month, and I really need a prescription for my pills. Is there any way I can just go in for the exam—or maybe just ask for the script—and then do the actual checkup later?
I mean, is the only move to just postpone everything and go see someone private? Like, what are the prices usually like for that, and would they even give me a prescription? The pharmacist at the drugstore just shrugged her shoulders at me and said she couldn't help. Right now, I'm basically left hanging without any doctor at all :/
Last week, when I actually went over there to ask what to do (which was also when I realized my period was coming up), it said they weren't even working that week, maybe on vacation or something.

Hair loss? Terrible irregular cycles? Honestly, they probably list those as symptoms mostly because they have to—it's kind of a legal thing, I suppose. It doesn't necessarily mean you'll experience them personally. I stopped taking mine after maybe two or three years, and—well—I didn't lose any hair, and my period wasn't terrible or irregular at all. My cycle stays around 25 to 29 days, which, in my opinion, is pretty much as regular as it gets.

Everyone reacts differently! For me, none of that happened.
frozentinker432, try not to panic ahead of time.

Looks like I stopped taking them.
But my libido—while I was actually on them—wasn't really great (caused some serious mental instability 😍).
Oh, and to add—my period didn't change much. My first cycle after quitting the pill was a little late (about 10-14 days), but everything else has been fine since (cycles are 29-32 days, just like before the pill).

I’ve gotten used to it arriving on exactly day 28 at the same damn time every month, so I guess it’ll be weird adjusting to this irregularity.
But whatever, that’s the least of my worries. It's not like I'm panicking or anything, I just feel exhausted these last two days, though maybe it isn't even because of that.
Anyway, thanks for the replies. 🙂
Personally, I didn't notice any side effects while taking it (I mean, I've always been mentally unstable 😁), or at least, that's how it seemed to me.
