It’s been five days for me and still nothing 🤷 I have to start taking it again this Friday. Honestly, I have no clue what to do 😢

Well, I suppose I should probably start drinking—you know, like, actually hydrating or maybe grabbing a glass of wine—since it feels like my period finally decided to show up. I was reading somewhere—though I can't be entirely sure of the source, I guess—that it’s actually somewhat common for things to be a little irregular from time to time. Apparently, if you end up missing a cycle, it might just be stress or something similar, but... well, if it happens two months in a row, that's when you really ought to head straight to the gynecologist. Just being cautious, I suppose.

I’ve got this stupid question that I’m still going to hash out with my OB-GYN, but honestly, it’s easier to just vent anonymously online first 😬

Is it actually necessary to get blood drawn and run a full hormone panel?
About four years ago, I went through this exact thing—did the tests and was on birth control for a while because of PCOS. Look, I know it sounds irresponsible, and when it comes to health, you have to pull out all the stops, but the issue is my cycle is a total mess. It’s impossible to pin down day one, let alone count to day twenty-one. Plus, half the time that "twenty-first day" falls on a Sunday or I'm just too busy with work to deal with it. I already had an ultrasound, and between the irregular cycles and needing protection, I need to be on those pills.

Now I’m just sitting here waiting for ten different people to jump down my throat about how I should care more about my health. 😬

Anyway, thanks. 🙂

Lucky you people whose breasts actually grew... mine are tiny anyway, and they aren't moving an inch regardless 😢
Well... I've only been on Diane for about a month now (dealing with PCOS).
The first seven days were a total wash... nausea, anxiety—I could barely eat anything at all...

Afterwards... my mood has stabilized (before this, I was flipping out every five minutes; PMS used to absolutely wreck me for two weeks before my period), and my skin has cleared up slightly (well, more like I'm not getting new breakouts, just the existing ones flare up occasionally, but it’s definitely better than before—maybe I should start using some skincare products now), and my skin isn't nearly as oily as it used to be, including my hair... I haven't gained a single pound either (which, honestly, I'd love)... though, the one weird thing is that my hips have started looking a bit different :S when I stand in front of the mirror, I definitely notice a shift... I have no idea what that's about... and I'm really hoping I can gain at least a little weight so that things might grow just a tiny bit 🙂>)) 😢( back when God was handing out chests... I guess I was more of a "brains over beauty" type—hopefully hehe

Well... for the first seven days, for the first time in nine years, I actually didn't feel any pain at all—and mind you, I usually live in constant agony 🙂 we'll see how it goes now 🙂 I finished my last pill yesterday... honestly, just sitting here waiting to see what happens, haha

Just do the tests for your own sake 😉
I dealt with similar stuff and the pills actually made things worse for me. From heavy bleeding while on them to total hormone chaos. Or just stick to condoms 😁

Hey there, ladies!

I’m not entirely sure if this topic has been brought up before—I was just skimming through this section quite hastily—but here we go.

Basically, I’m really curious about your personal experiences with birth control pills.
Of course, I know everyone reacts differently—it's all so incredibly individual—but I would honestly love to hear some different perspectives out there.

So, about two years ago, I had my very first visit to the gynecologist (and, funnily enough, my last one so far!), and back then, I asked for a prescription for the pill. My doctor prescribed Logest. She told me to start taking them on the fifth day of my period, even though the official instructions say to start on the first day... she insisted that starting on the fifth day was actually more "correct" and—get this—she said she’d take full responsibility for any consequences. 😕 (God knows what that even means!)

I’ve spent ages scouring the internet—searching high and low, really—and I haven't found a single mention of anyone else starting their pills on the fifth day...

I’m planning on heading back to see her soon because she’s just so lovely and gentle—everyone seems to rave about her—so I was thinking of asking her about those instructions again. But, oh boy, I’m a little worried about offending her by questioning her advice...

Regarding the Logest itself, she mentioned it’s a low-hormone option, which she said is great for younger women, and claimed there aren't any specific side effects to worry about. So, yeah... if there are any ladies here who have used Logest or who can weigh in on this at all, please feel free to share! 😉

I had a absolutely horrific, nightmare experience with that kind of birth control. I was 14—taking some pills (can’t even remember which ones) because my bleeding was totally out of control. I almost ended up needing a blood transfusion. Took three pills and landed straight in the ER.😢I couldn't even stay on my feet from how weak I felt—I was passing out even while lying in bed!!! Like, seriously, I was losing consciousness while just lying there!🙏🙏

Never in a million years would I ever consider taking anything from that group again.
Obviously, I'm an extreme case, but trust me—that day, I genuinely thought I was dying.☕God forbid I ever need that stuff again, because what I went through is just impossible to put into words. It was terrifying. 👎

Don't worry the girl too much.😢 You can start taking them on the fifth day, though I believe they don't provide contraceptive protection during the first month or the first seven days, I'm not entirely certain. For all pills, the instructions specify when to start and how much protection you get depending on which day of the cycle you begin. And if you are taking them for another medical indication rather than contraception, I believe it really doesn't matter whether it's the first or the fifth day...

I've seriously never heard of anyone going through what happened to me.🤷 Total disaster.
Guess I'm just a special case.🙄

So, here’s the deal... I’ve been on birth control for over ten years now, and for the first time ever, I’ve reached the end of a pack only to realize I missed a pill somewhere along the line. The kicker? I have absolutely zero clue when it happened. It could have been during the first week, the second, or the third... I just don't remember.
I’m honestly spiraling a bit right now, trying to figure out my next move. There's a chance I might have just forgotten the very last pill yesterday, but even that isn't a hundred percent certain...
What would you guys do if you were in my shoes? Would you just wait for a normal period, or would you go ahead and start the next pack immediately without any break?

The exact same thing happened to me last month. It’s the first time in four years I actually missed a pill and forgot I’d taken it. But honestly, how do you even not realize you skipped one? Aren't they clearly marked by the week?
I missed one during the second week and just kept taking the rest until the pack was empty. We were using condoms anyway, so no big deal. I took my usual seven-day break and started the next pack right on schedule.
Maybe I should have skipped the break entirely, but whatever. That’s what I did.

Look, just take a break and call it a day—it’s really not that big of a deal. Just use some extra protection so you can be one hundred percent sure about it.

I've decided to just take a real break from everything and see where the chips fall. Honestly, it feels like a better move than just keeping down these pills if there's a chance I'm already pregnant. I guess I'll just have to wait two days and see what happens...

So, here’s the thing. I have a quick question for you all. 😁
Once you take that very first pill—you know, on day one of the cycle—does that period actually behave like the ones before it, or does it tend to wrap up faster, similar to how those usual cycles usually go when you're on the pill?

On my eighth pill today and there’s still just a few traces here and there. My period actually stopped up around day six.
We'll see how next month plays out.😁

...so, my period finally decided to show up yesterday, and honestly, I haven't had any of those typical side effects; everything feels pretty standard, except for the fact that I feel like I’ve been constantly hungry 😁

For me, it lasted just as long as usual. It wasn't until after the first pack that things started getting shorter. 🙂

So, what are you guys’ experiences with Tri-Norum pills? I was at my check-up alone and actually opened up to my doctor about how I’ve been on Diane—mentioning how it absolutely wrecked my appetite and caused me to pack on weight within two years $3.25 and that it’s really getting to me...
Then he basically starts lecturing me about how Diane is one of the oldest medications out there—you know, that classic "well, what did you expect?!" attitude.
That doctor is just filling in for someone else right now, but honestly, he totally caught me off guard!!!!! 👎
Now I’m sitting here reading the fine print, and it says acne is a possible side effect, which is a huge deal because my skin is already a nightmare...
And I also read somewhere that it can affect your weight, right?!
Like, are you kidding me?! 😠
Has anyone else dealt with this—like, any girls out there who were taking these while dealing with the exact same issues I am?

Look, I know starting a whole new thread isn't exactly the best etiquette here, but I’m genuinely spiraling and could really use some help..
My gynecologist switched my prescription from Diane-35 over to Trinovum..
I’ve been scouring the patient info leaflets, but honestly—nothing—they don't actually answer my specific question..
So yeah, I’m stuck in this state of total confusion because I have no clue when exactly I’m supposed to kick off this new therapy..
I took my very last pill of Diane last Thursday, and my period showed up today..
Do I start the Trinovum on day one of my period, or am I supposed to wait out the usual seven-day break first?!
Please, if any of you ladies have the actual facts, can someone just tell me so I can stop stressing! 🙂
