Do I need extra protection just for those five days while I'm on antibiotics, or is the whole month a wash?

I think you should use backup protection while taking the antibiotics and then for another 7 days after you finish (enough time to get back to seven consecutive days of pills). Pretty sure that's what the instructions say. It also depends on which pack you're using; if you're in your third week, you should probably skip the seven-day break entirely. If you take a break, you won't hit that seven-day streak required for reliable protection.

Yeah, that's exactly why I was asking. Thanks.
The Triquilin manual doesn't go into this much detail; it just says to use extra protection if you're taking antibiotics.
I started the antibiotics on the fourth pill, so I'm in week one.

Is it actually possible for my period to be super, super light when I'm on birth control?
So, basically, I was on Yasmin for about two years straight, then decided to take a little break for two months before jumping back on it recently. I finished my last pill this past Wednesday, and then yesterday—while my boyfriend and I were hooking up—we both noticed a tiny bit of blood. We stopped right away because we just figured it was my period starting, you know? But honestly, it hasn't gotten any heavier since then! This time, the bleeding is seriously minimal, like, barely even there. Since this has never happened to me during the whole time I've been on the pill, I’m totally stressing out wondering if this is normal or if I should be worried? And like, is there any chance I could actually be pregnant?

rowdyhawk27 said:Question, though I’m starting to feel like hope might be a lost cause. :S

I've been on Logest for five months now. Before this, I was on Cilest or Yasmin, and it was always the same story—except these ones felt even worse. The headaches... the insane irritability... the total drop in libido...

Anyway, the Logest seems to suit me slightly better than the previous ones. I still had those moody phases and bouts of crying, though they weren't constant, but it’s definitely more manageable after three months of adjusting.

But here's what I've actually noticed: CELLULITE. :S:S
I’m working out a bit more than I used to, trying to watch my diet and avoiding eating too late at night, but it just keeps getting worse.

The scale hasn't moved much, maybe up an extra pound or two—though I did quit smoking about three months ago.

So, here is my question...
Does anyone know if cellulite caused by birth control ever actually goes away?
If I keep exercising and staying disciplined with my food, will it fade? Or will it at least become less noticeable?
It feels like it's becoming more visible to me 😢 and now, if I don't press on it, I can see it right under my glutes.😢

I've been on Triquilar for a year and a half. Up until now, I haven't had any side effects—no weight gain, no irritability, nothing. I had a little cellulite before I started taking pills, so I think it's stayed about the same.😕
I don't believe the pills affect cellulite... here's a site that might confirm that, but then again, everyone has their own experience. It's worth checking out.

http://www.webmd.com/women/a-z/birth-control-side-effects

There are some good videos there; it's useful to watch, especially for those who are just deciding on birth control!

As far as I'm concerned, long live Triquilar 😍 Princess, give those a try. I hope they'll be better than your last ones.😁

Honestly, you should just talk to your doctor. Ever since I started birth control, I make sure it's noted in my medical file. That way, my physician always prescribes something compatible with Triquilar.😁

The manual mentions avoiding penicillin, tetracycline, or doxycycline—basically anything used for infections. 🙄It's better to just ask a professional.🙂

Help, please.

I completely messed up. I just realized today that after my 7-day break, I was supposed to take the first pill from the new pack tonight (Thursday evening). Instead, I took the first one Tuesday night, the second on Wednesday night, and the third one today (Thursday)... So, I should have only taken the first one today 🤦.
Now, what should I do? Did I mess up my current cycle by taking two pills too early? I started bleeding on Tuesday, but the flow has been incredibly light for the last two days—almost non-existent. Could that be because I took those two pills ahead of schedule?
Second question: how do I handle this? Should I just keep going with the rest of the pack as usual, or should I just stop for this month? And how reliable is my protection right now, considering I won't have two pills left at the end since I started early and will finish the pack early?

Don't you worry about a thing. Since you got started early, you'll probably receive every subsequent box two days ahead of schedule, meaning you'll be starting your weekly routine on Tuesday instead of Thursday. You're perfectly covered, so there's absolutely no cause for panic. 😉
It would only be an issue if you had started two days late; since you actually started two days early, you really have nothing to worry about.

Thanks so much for the reply 🙂.
I'll definitely be more careful next time 😁.

Walter Anderson13 said:I have a dilemma. I’m taking Logest (on the good days) and I’m supposed to start a new pack tonight, but my period hasn't arrived yet. I’ll take a test just to be safe, even though I don't think I'm pregnant. What now? If the test comes back negative, should I still start the new pack tonight or wait?

I have actually found myself in this exact same situation before, which leads me to wonder about something else.
Has anyone here experienced being on birth control and having your period skip two months in a row? If so, what was the outcome—did your gynecologist order any specific tests or blood work, and did you eventually figure out what the underlying cause was?

I have a question for all you ladies who went to the clinic on Main Street for blood work for pills,
I received a referral from my OBGYN for PV and APTV tests. Do I need to make an appointment
for those specifically, or can I just show up where I went previously for my pregnancy blood type testing,
or should I go somewhere else entirely?

Thanks everyone for the help. Best regards.

Why don't you just call the hospital and ask 🤷

Here’s their info from the site:
Women's Clinic at Mayo Clinic, 200 First St, Rochester, MN 55901,
Tel. +1 (507) 284-2500

It’s probably the fastest way, I guess 😉

If you’re heading over to Mayo Clinic just for blood work, they definitely don't take appointments for that... They start drawing blood at 7:30 AM, but if I were you, I’d get there even earlier—if you actually want to be out of there quickly.

Thanks, but I'm heading to a local clinic first to have one part removed, then I'll make my way over to the main hospital for
the other part!! I just needed to be sure I didn't need an appointment if I wasn't pregnant.

I actually swung by there about a week ago, only to realize I’d made a wasted trip because you have to make an appointment now! So, I went ahead and booked everything online for January 10th. When I had my blood work done a few months back, they weren't doing this appointment thing at all, so this is clearly a new policy they've rolled out!

It’s true, I went there this morning and they were starting to turn people away again, except
pregnant women, kids, and emergencies. They told me Dr. Miller gave the order... lovely.
I just headed over to Mount Sinai instead and got seen within three minutes...

Hey everyone! I have a quick question. I know I really ought to bring this up with my doctor or a gynecologist, but I honestly just can't seem to muster the courage to actually go. For the longest time, my skin was totally fine—not perfect, obviously, but totally okay. Then, I spent a year on Yasmin, and my complexion became like something straight out of a high-end skincare commercial. But the second I stopped taking them? My skin went downhill fast. It’s been pretty terrifying, honestly. I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun, from endless drugstore skincare routines to different antibiotics, but nothing sticks. Now I’m actually sitting here wondering if I should just start back on the pill solely for my skin... hmm. Or, does anyone know if there’s a way to figure out what specifically caused the shift so I can actually address the root cause instead of just guessing?

Well, if you ask me, you should probably start by getting your hormone levels checked out first—though, obviously, an actual doctor will be the one to tell you exactly which ones to test, on which specific day of your cycle, and just how much time needs to pass after you’ve stopped taking the pill.

I have one question. I started taking Yasmin less than a month ago. I took it for five days, but on the sixth day, I stopped because I had intense chest pains and other issues. My period arrived about five days later, but it was extremely light and only lasted one day. Do you think my next cycle will arrive on schedule—since it’s usually very punctual—or is it possible it might come early or late because I stopped and my hormones haven't stabilized yet?

I don't really want to freak out because I don't think it's a big deal, but I found a pill in my purse the other day—must have fallen out, I have no clue 😁... should I start my next pack a day earlier (during that 7-day break)? I'm just worried about messing up my cycle..
