So, we’re talking about the adjustment phase from the start, then? 😁

I happened to come across some information online suggesting that side effects should taper off after about three months. If I find myself still being completely impossible by then, it’s clear this medication isn't the right fit for me, regardless of how much I preferred it over Yasmin earlier on. That said, I have absolutely no intention of going off the pill entirely just yet, so I might just try switching to something else in a few months.

Everything was totally awesome for about six months, but then it's like my body just got used to it and went absolutely haywire! 🤷

Ugh, tell me about it. When I first started on Yasmin, I was dealing with the exact same mess. But after chatting with my OB-GYN, I decided to just power through it because apparently, it takes the body about three whole months to settle into that hormone level. I've been on them for almost two years now and everything is totally fine.🙂 😉

I’ve been taking Yasmin for four years now, and the only real difference I've noticed is that my periods aren't painful anymore (unlike before, when I used to end up in the ER due to the cramps).

Mood swings - 0 points
Breast growth - 0 points
Increased appetite - 0 points
Effect on acne (I have very little anyway) - 0 points

So, yes, everything is subjective.

p.s. I’ve noticed there is a massive amount of misinformation circulating among the general population—both women and men, though who really asks them?... things like oral contraceptives causing infertility or causing extreme weight gain.

So, after I stopped taking Triquilar, I actually heard from quite a few people nearby who said it eventually just stopped working for them and really messed with their mood.

For three years, life was awesome—consistent doses, zero pain, and no PMS at all. I didn't even gain weight or deal with new cellulite! But then, everything went south... 😢

Maybe it’s finally time for me to switch to a different brand. Honestly, if we weren't planning on having a baby, I probably wouldn't have given up the pill. So, ladies—fingers crossed for you all!

Still, you really should be checking in regularly with a gynecologist about this. If any doubts arise, or if you just feel uneasy about what your doctor is telling you, there is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion from another specialist.
🙂

Mine also skipped after I came off the pill. I really wanted to get things back to normal naturally, so I just waited and waited and waited—I actually went in for an exam and they told me my ovaries looked fine and that this is just a common thing after stopping birth control. But since it wasn't coming back, my doctor prescribed Duphaston. I had some hormone tests done during that time; my progesterone was a little low, but everything else seemed okay. Since that induced period from the Duphaston, I've already had two natural ones—they're a bit lighter than before, but my doctor says that's perfectly normal and the main thing is just that they're returning.

So yeah, anything is possible.

On a side note, I found being on the pill completely unbearable. I felt depressed, irritable, constantly "unwell," and I even dealt with panic attacks... It was just awful.

So here I am, waiting for my cycle to show up after being on the pill, and absolutely nothing... it's been 40 days! Clearly, she needs a little nudge to get moving. But hey, I'm so stoked to hear things are back to normal for you!

Sorry for the random off-topic post!

...I actually picked up a Triquilar a few years back... it really seemed to suit me quite well—or so I thought... I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me what the current price is these days???

Can't get to my OB-GYN right now—so I'm asking here because this is urgent.
Six months ago, I started taking Yaz because of polycystic ovaries. I’m not on it currently since I had to have surgery and it was better to pause... but now I need to delay my period, which should start around June 1st based on this cycle. It's day 24 of my cycle today, and I want to know if it's too late to start the pills now to push my period back until after June 10th.
Thanks. 🙂

Hi there! Does anyone here use or know much about these new pills: Lindynette and Novynette? I’m currently on Logest, but my gynecologist suggested switching to these instead...

...mainly because they cost more, which is reason number one in my book. Looking at the online prices, it looks like I'd be out roughly $50 in about a month. Honestly, the moment he started singing their praises, my skepticism kicked in; I can't help but wonder if there's some kickback involved, especially since the guy is a total crook. He even tried to sell me on those instead of Diane, despite the fact that I have PCOS.

So, apparently, they have a lower dosage, which might theoretically make them "healthier," but I still have to say—that price tag is 👎.

Aren't Diane pills essentially the same thing— $47? Does anyone know which ones are the most affordable?

By the way, Yasmin is $30 😁 here in the States.

Diane is prescription-only and covered by insurance since they classify it as a "treatment" for PCOS.

A friend of mine has been on Diane birth control pills for years now (the standard 21 days on, 7 days off routine). She recently headed out on a long trip and decided she wanted to skip her period entirely so she wouldn't have to deal with it while traveling. Basically, she’s been taking them continuously for about 50 days straight, skipping two scheduled breaks, but now she’s started experiencing some light spotting that just won't quit. Should she be worried? Does she need to take a break now, or should she just push through and keep going? It’s a bit awkward for her to try and consult a doctor since she's currently abroad.

What’s the best move here?

So, I started taking Novynette about nine days ago, and almost immediately after starting, I noticed this weird rash around my vaginal area. It looks kind of like mosquito bites and it’s incredibly itchy. I tried applying some allergy cream, which helped a little bit at first, but then it flared right back up again this morning. Now, before it showed up the first time and again before this latest flare-up, I had been drinking alcohol. Do you guys think there could be any connection there? Or is this just a general side effect from the pill? Or maybe something else entirely? The packaging says that side effects usually clear up on their own after a couple of months, but is that actually true?
Aside from that, I haven't really run into any other issues—my breasts feel the same, my mood is totally fine, everything seems okay. Back when I was on Diane, I dealt with a massive bout of depression and broke out in acne all over my face, so honestly, this would be perfectly fine if it weren't for this damn rash. I have an appointment with my gynecologist this Thursday, but I’d really love if someone could weigh in before then just to help ease my mind. 😢

It honestly has nothing to do with the pills. You’re dealing with some kind of infection.

I was just at my OB-GYN's office. Turns out it wasn't actually because of any birth control pills, but just from shaving. Thanks for asking! 😉
So, basically, the newbies are just running wild here.

Attention, attention:

I’d bet my last dollar they’re going to be incredibly stingy when it comes to insurance coverage for these.

I don't quite have the courage to bring up that whole business regarding stopping birth control pills anywhere else, so I thought I’d reach out to you all here instead...
I started taking them back in February, and honestly, I can tell you from experience that I didn't run into any of those scary side effects our group is always worrying about—you know, things like hair loss or breakouts and all that. Everything has been smooth sailing for me so far.

I was wondering, when did your cycles finally settle back into a normal rhythm for you all? For me, the very first period after I stopped taking birth control didn't show up until two months later, and now my second one is already ten days late. :/

Look, I know I’m not supposed to say it, but there is absolutely no way I’m going to start smoking just to fix this, and I definitely don't want to be on birth control. Right now, I’m on Logest and honestly, it’s a nightmare. My legs are cramping up so painfully, not to mention these brutal mental PMS swings. When I first started taking them, everything was fine. But now? Good grief... 😵
