Hey guys,
I’m starting a new pack of Diane 35, and I just noticed they look different. Then it hit me why! My old ones said 'Diane 35 extended release,' but these say 'Diane 35 film-coated tablets.' Is this actually the same thing, or did the pharmacist at my local CVS totally rip me off?! 🙂

rapiddrifter4 said:Well, this definitely isn't "normal" anymore. It’s day eighteen for me now, and the bleeding has actually picked up—I'm going through two or three pads a day—plus I'm seeing some clotting. To make matters worse, my skin has completely flared up; I've got breakouts everywhere, especially around my chin. Just pimple after pimple.

My doctor at the local clinic won't even see me because I showed up for the wrong shift today—what am I supposed to do?

rowdytiger8 said:And that’s just how things go—nothing out of the ordinary!
For those first six months, your body is basically just trying to find its rhythm—so seeing these kinds of irregularities is actually pretty standard.😉

How long is this bleeding supposed to last? Like—is someone actually going to be bleeding for a whole month straight during this period?...

I’ve been sitting here for a little while—just nursing a lukewarm cup of coffee and watching the rain hit the window—thinking about our recent discussions regarding community standards. It’s funny how these things evolve, isn't it? One day we’re all just casual observers, and the next, we find ourselves deeply invested in the finer points of digital etiquette. I was actually chatting with a friend over lunch the other day—we were at that little bistro near the park, the one with the amazing sourdough—and we touched upon something similar. We talked about how much easier life becomes when everyone just follows a basic, unwritten set of rules to keep things civil. It’s not about being strict; it’s more about maintaining that sense of warmth and mutual respect that makes a space feel like home. Anyway, I wanted to chime in because I feel like there’s a middle ground we haven't quite explored yet. We don't need to turn this into a courtroom drama—Lord knows we have enough of those on the nightly news—but perhaps a bit more intentionality wouldn't hurt. I’m curious to hear what the rest of you think about finding that balance between free expression and keeping the atmosphere pleasant. Just a thought, really. No pressure at all. kaže:
It seems like you might have cut off mid-sentence there—you were just starting to say "Cure ovak," which sounds like you were about to dive into a topic or perhaps share a thought. Whatever it was you were getting at, please, don't be shy! I’m all ears. Whether it’s a question, a random observation from your day, or even just a bit of a rant about something that happened while you were grabbing coffee this morning, feel free to lay it out. I tend to enjoy the longer, more winding stories anyway—they always feel a bit more authentic than just a quick headline. Whenever you're ready, go ahead and finish that thought. I'm looking forward to hearing what's on your mind.
So, I’ve just started using a new box of Diane 35, and as I was looking at it, I realized the packaging looks a bit different from what I'm used to—and then it hit me why. On my previous packs, it clearly said "Diane 35 dražeje" [Note: User likely meant 'dražeje' as a typo for a specific formulation or simply noted a difference in wording], but these new ones say "Diane 35 coated tablets." Now, I’m sitting here wondering—is this actually the exact same medication, or did the pharmacist at the local CVS just pull a fast one on me? Has anyone else run into this kind of labeling switch before? 🙂

To Sam Martin63—well, I noticed it too... 😉

I went into the pharmacy, and the woman there just swapped it out for me.
She acted like they were "one and the same," but if they’re truly identical, why bother having two different versions in the first place?!
Just to be safe, I ended up taking the one I was actually supposed to take on Monday 🤣

Hello, I have a situation here that has been weighing heavily on my mind. To get straight to the point—I take birth control pills, and I ended up taking an extra dose that I absolutely wasn't supposed to. I took this extra pill back on Sunday, and now, according to my schedule, my period should be arriving today—but there is nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Is it actually possible to face a pregnancy just because of one single extra pill?!?

So how would it even work—what’s the actual mechanism? And what happens if you forget a dose...

I honestly don't get why nobody is just asking their doctor how these pills actually function in the first place.

Hmm, I don't have the box right in front of me at the moment, but...

Aren't the instructions supposed to be identical for both types of packaging? I didn't really think to check the fine print—I just noticed the labels looked different on these specific boxes.

🙂🙂🙂

So, if there's a 7-day break between two boxes of birth control, is it okay for a guy to finish inside during sex, or does that mean there's no protection anymore?

There's zero protection. 😉

I’ve been thinking quite a bit lately about how much our digital spaces shape our actual sense of community. It’s easy to get lost in the noise, but there’s something deeply rewarding about finding those pockets of genuine connection online. It reminds me of those small, local coffee shops back home—the kind where you don't necessarily know everyone's life story, but you feel a shared sense of belonging just by being in the room. That's what I strive for here. I believe that even in a vast, sprawling landscape like the internet, we can maintain a level of sincerity and mutual respect if we make a conscious effort. It isn't always easy to stay earnest when everything feels so fast-paced and reactive, but I truly believe the quality of our conversations defines the quality of our experience. I’m looking forward to seeing more of these meaningful exchanges as we move forward. kaže:
There’s just no protection. 😉

Since when has that been the case? My gynecologist always told me that you’re fully protected during the pill break. Honestly, if I remember correctly, I even read in the medication instructions that the protection remains effective throughout the placebo days as well.

Hey there.

My OB-GYN put me on Yaz. I was waiting until my period actually showed up before starting—standard stuff, right? But yesterday, I noticed some spotting... not really blood, just this brownish discharge. Usually, that’s how my period starts for the last two days. So, I went ahead and took the first pill, thinking the "real" bleeding would kick in tomorrow. Well, today is the same story—just very light, barely anything on the tampon. Not a real period at all.

I should mention, I was supposed to start yesterday, and I've been feeling the usual symptoms too—cramping, stomach aches, the whole deal.

Now I'm spiraling a bit wondering if I messed up—maybe I shouldn't have started while things were already shifting? 🤷

@twisted - didn't fail, everything's fine

got a question
on the pill
heading out on a trip in about two weeks and I really don't want to be bleeding during that time. Looks like it might happen since I'm right at the end of my pack😁

I was thinking about stopping the active pills a few days early, switching to the placebo, and then starting a new pack immediately (basically acting like I missed a pill) just to trigger my "period" earlier than scheduled.

how smart is that?
any chance I'll screw something up?

guessing option A isn't recommended, and for option B—I really don't want breakthrough bleeding for the next two weeks. That happened once before when I took two packs back-to-back without the placebo (I forgot a pill and chose that route).

🤷

Don't stop taking the active pills—especially don't skip a bunch of them—because you could end up getting pregnant!
The only way to actually delay your period is to skip the placebo pills, though that's not really recommended, especially if you just did that recently.

That’s not true.
One option when you forget a pill between days 15 and 24 is to stop taking the active ones (meaning you skip more pills) and start the placebos instead.

And you aren't even reading what I wrote 😁 I don't want to delay it, I want to get it sooner.

It’s not getting pregnant that scares me. It’s whether I’ll mess up my hormones or something else and end up doing more harm than good

Well, that’s only if you miss a pill and need to take an extra precaution to stay protected. Otherwise, you wouldn't do that.
Each pill has a specific hormone ratio depending on where you are in your cycle. So, skipping a few pills is going to mess with your natural rhythm. If you ended up bleeding for an extra two weeks after skipping pills before, there's a good chance you'll deal with that again now.

Your best bet is to just ask your OB-GYN—but honestly, if you're even on them for reasons other than birth control, your cycle probably isn't super regular anyway, and skipping pills will definitely throw things off.

I posted this a few days ago, but nothing has changed—this pathetic little thing still doesn't even qualify as a period.

So here's what's bothering me... since birth control is supposed to be started on the first day of your period, what happens if I started while this isn't actually my "real" period? 😕
I assume I'm not protected—like, they aren't working?

P.S. I tried calling my doctor, but she's on vacation and there's no one covering for her because it's a private practice.😢

Here's what the manual says:
Start taking YAZ on the first day of your cycle (meaning, the first day of your period). If you start on day one, you're protected from pregnancy immediately. You can start within 2 to 5 days of your cycle starting, but you'll need to use extra protection—like a condom—for those first 7 days.

Maybe your actual period actually started, but the pills just made it lighter? I've been on them forever and honestly can't remember how mine felt, but maybe ask some other girls on the YAZ threads.

Yeah, that's what both me and I read—and it probably would have made sense if I’d been on the pills for a while already and they were affecting my flow. But look, I only just started them that first day... it was my very first month.

Thanks anyway 🙂. I also posted the question over on the Yaz thread, so hopefully someone will actually chime in soon...
