How do I delete my account?

So, everything is documented... I want to delete this account 🙂

Look, people have been asking about this forever. You can't just delete your own account—it doesn't work that way. And honestly, the admins aren't going to wipe your profile unless you've had it for like six months with zero posts, which... yeah, definitely isn't you. I guess your best bet is to just stop visiting the site altogether, or maybe just log out (there’s a link at the bottom of the Reddit homepage) and just start fresh with a brand new username. 🙂

Alt accounts aren't against the rules, provided that:
a) they aren't being used by someone who's already been banned from the site.
b) they aren't jumping into the same threads just to mess with people or cause confusion... 😉

If you are truly insistent on making this change, I would strongly suggest reaching out to one of our female administrators regarding the matter (ideally Desiree).
A username change would be most straightforward if it were purely cosmetic—meaning minimal adjustments are required—and provided, naturally, that the desired name isn't already taken. However, every unique situation deserves its own individual review and will certainly be considered, so I once again urge you to contact the aforementioned administrator... 😉

If you're dead set on it, you should probably reach out to one of our admins about it (Desiree is your best bet).
Changing a username is fine if it's just for looks—less hassle—as long as nobody else is already using it. But every case is different, so definitely check in with them first.. 😉
