How do I get my old username back?

My old handle was Marino, but I ended up getting banned. Honestly, I was the one asking to be banned for good 🙂 so I was wondering if there's any way to get that account reinstated? If it's possible to bring it back, we could just delete this current nickname instead.

If you want to deal with that banned account, your best bet is to reach out to the site admins and just explain the situation—why you originally requested the ban and why you're looking to undo it now. Don't worry about making it some huge, complicated manifesto; just give them a quick, honest summary so they can get a sense of who you are and what happened. 🙂

The reason they gave you for the ban was that you’re supposedly a clone of a user who's already banned. But looking back through your recent posts, I don't see anything where you actually asked for a permanent ban. Do you happen to have a link to that somewhere, maybe?

Let me clear this whole thing up for you guys🙂So, here’s what actually happened: I was looking into getting a permanent ban via private message—basically just reaching out to a moderator. In my message, I told him I wanted a permanent ban, and I even sent over a screenshot of an old user who registered back in 2006 (which was when I was only nine years old!). That user had also been banned in 2006, and now you can't see his profile, his posts, or anything else. I was just using that as an example! I asked the mod if my profile could look like that too—you know, a total wipeout where nobody can read my posts anymore. My thinking was that if someone gets banned for, say, four or five years, their entire profile just vanishes from public view. I'll find an example for you guys in a bit. The thing is, the moderator thought I was actually that old user🙄 but I was really just picking a random member to show him how I wanted my own account to look. It wasn't until later that I realized a profile only looks like that after you've been banned for several years. I can explain exactly why I wanted my profile to end up that way in the PM

That’s not really what profiles look like after being banned for a while; usually, if you see something like that, it means there was some underlying glitch or technical issue that caused certain usernames to be wiped out entirely. That's why they look that way—banned accounts always have the exact same look.
