How do I set up animations?

It looks like some people actually managed to get their animations working. I gave it a shot, but I couldn't make it happen for the life of me. Any idea where I went wrong? 😁

If you’re looking to use a GIF for your avatar, you really have to be careful about the dimensions 🙂
Anything
works fine for an animation. Just drop the GIF—or whatever animation you're trying to use—right here, and I guess I can shrink it down for you if you don't really know how to do that stuff yourself.

Just drop the GIF or animation you want to use right here. If you can't figure out how to resize it yourself, I'll handle it for you.

Hey there—would you mind helping me resize this image so it stays animated? I tried messing around with MS Paint just now, but once I scaled it down to sve ispod 75 x75, it ended up looking way too tiny. Is there a better program out there for handling this? Thanks so much! 🙂

Hey, can anyone give me a hand with shrinking this animation down? I'm wondering if it actually needs to be smaller or if I'm just overthinking things.

So, I just checked and the size looks totally fine. The animation is only 18.28kb—well under that 29.3 limit
I don't get it though... if the file size is good, why won't the system let me set it as my avatar? 😢

The image is way too large—I mean in terms of its actual dimensions, not the file size or KB. 😉

Thanks for the help, though I ended up figuring it out myself. One thing that still bugs me, though—what's the deal with this "Note : The -> maximum size of your custom image is 75 by 75 pixels or 29.3 KB (whichever is smaller)." rule? It seems redundant to require both conditions to be met simultaneously.

You need to grab the specific URL that ends in .gif. Go ahead and select "Copy link," then paste that here:

Yeah, I'm on my computer. I'll take a look later and see if there's any way to pull this off from my phone...

I actually figured out a way to get to that link—all I do is hold my finger down on the image and select "open image in New Tab." That’s where the direct link to the .gif shows up.
