How to calculate area?

Is there any software out there that could calculate surface area from a scanned image? For example, if I have a scan of some old property survey or a plot map, could I just trace the boundaries and then input one single known measurement to calibrate everything?

AutoCAD, sure, but you’re probably better off just heading down to the county assessor's office for that. I mean, unless you need something crazy precise for what you're planning, it might be overkill 😁
