How to use split screen?

Hey there!
I was wondering if there's any way to split a single monitor into two distinct sections? I'm trying to run two different programs at once, but the windows just keep overlapping on top of each other, which is driving me absolutely crazy 😵
And please, don't suggest just hooking up a second monitor—that’s not what I'm looking for here

🕺Honestly, you can just resize each program window to take up about half the screen—whether you prefer splitting it vertically or horizontally—to whatever layout feels most intuitive to you.

If you happen to be running Windows 7 - logo + arrow left and on a second window logo + arrow right with both windows positioned side by side...

Here’s the issue I’m running into: certain programs just refuse to function properly in windowed mode. What I’m looking to do is set up my screen configuration so that we can essentially trick the system—making one half of the screen "see" itself as a single dedicated monitor, while the other half acts as a completely separate second display.

I mean, if this is even possible... I might sound a bit dense asking something like this, but 🙂

I don't think it's possible. You'd basically have to rewrite the entire graphics driver from scratch. Think you can pull that off? Probably not... just grab a different monitor and call it a day.

So, when you say they aren't working in "windowed mode"—are you saying they just force themselves into full screen, making it impossible to drag them over to another monitor?

Personally, I’m always multitasking—I'll have a movie running in full screen on one display while keeping an eye on a torrent download on the other, or even something like
running World of Warcraft on one screen while browsing the web on the second...

I'm not quite following what the specific issue is here.
Just try hitting the Windows key + P on Windows 7 or Windows 8, then select whichever option you need.
