Hey everyone! I really need a hand here... I’m totally stuck on how to set up this IF function and I seriously need to get a grade of 2 on this one. :S Here is the assignment, please help me out!
NAME CITY AMOUNT TAX COMMENT
PERO WASHINGTON, D.C. 4
IVO INDIANAPOLIS 5
MATO SAN FRANCISCO 3
JURE SEATTLE 2
TOMO CHARLESTON 5
-Use an IF function to calculate the tax. If the amount is 3 or higher, the tax rate should be 22%; if it's less than 3, the rate should be 20%. (use the IF function)
2.For the comment, make it say "good" if the tax is greater than 1, or "bad" if the tax is less than 1 (use the IF function)
Oh my gosh, please, I'm begging you guys!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏😕

What exactly was that broken formula you were trying to build after digging through the help files for the IF function? Just copy and paste it right here—then maybe we can actually figure out where the logic is falling apart.

=IF(C5>=3,0.22*C5,C5*0.2) goes right into your tax column (D), then just copy and paste that all the way down

=IF(D5>1,"GOOD","BAD"), toss that into the comments column (E) and drag it down the list

- I'm assuming if the salary is >=3, we use the IF function for the tax calculation, right?
