IMAX 3D on YouTube

I've been scouring the search bar and I'm coming up totally empty on anything 3D. Is it just me, or is everything actually missing?

That's just how it is.

I suppose I'm a bit confused as to what specifically interests you regarding 3D content on YouTube. Perhaps this could potentially serve as a topic for discussion, provided that a moderator decides to update the title accordingly...

So, I hit on this idea to start filming some short little clips for YouTube, and I'm actually working on one right now. I kept thinking there was this specific vibe out there—you know, that immersive stuff—but honestly? It’s just not happening. Probably because most people still haven't bothered to pick up a 3D monitor or a 3D TV yet.

There seems to be quite a bit of ongoing debate regarding 3D and 3D TVs in various threads, but I suppose it’s worth noting that if you want to watch 3D videos on YouTube, you don't actually need a 3DTV; you really just need a pair of glasses.

I’m gonna ask the mod to rename this thread to IMAX 3D.
So, I finally bit the bullet, picked up a 3D camera, and started messing around with filming 3D movies.
Here’s my first attempt at it.

Just a heads up—you really should watch this on a passive monitor or a TV in Full HD if you want it to actually look decent.

This looks alright, though I should probably mention that my colors were messed up by default because they were set for glasses with a red left lens and blue right lens. I fixed it by clicking the toggle button in the 3D options at the bottom of the video—the other option basically just flips the glasses.
Just figured I'd mention it in case anyone else has issues with the picture.

At the end of the day, I'd say this is easily one of the more technically impressive 3D clips you'll find on YouTube...

For me, the absolute best 3D experience was definitely How to Train Your Dragon 3D—even if you could argue that adults shouldn't be watching cartoons all day!

I suppose you're right about that. It seems my colleague made a mistake and swapped the image positions in his stereo video.

It’s one of those clips that seems to invite a certain level of scrutiny, if one is inclined to look closely at the technical execution. I was down in Miami at South Beach on the beach. It was absolutely wild. Just got back home, too. Now I just gotta sit down, edit this video, encode the damn thing, and get it up on YouTube so you guys can check it out and lose your minds. 🙂
As for that 3D video stuff and the swapped images (left vs right), I honestly don't know. It looks like YouTube might be having some issues with the red/blue channels because everything looks perfectly fine on my 3D monitor. Left channel stays left, right stays right. I'm encoding it in Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm just encoding it exactly how it sits in the original 3D video file.

Yes, I just went ahead and double-checked, and your left-right settings seem perfectly fine on your video. I suppose I find this whole YouTube error somewhat perplexing, given that I haven't really encountered these kinds of issues before, even when opting for the red/cyan viewing mode.
I did take some time to look through the rest of the films on your channel—they are quite impressive, I must say—but it seems they all suffer from this same left-right discrepancy.
I wonder if you perhaps filled out the > correctly? (yt3d:enable=true yt3d:aspect=16:9 yt3d: swap=true)
For instance, this particular video doesn't seem to have the problem: Central Park, , though I should note it was produced using the Under / Over format.

I'll check it out when I can. Honestly, I'm swamped right now—got way too much on my plate at work.
If I get the chance to fix those errors, I definitely will.

Edit: Finally sorted out that mess with the Swap L&R audio channels.

I wonder what he said about the camera model? It seems to have pretty decent low-light performance, doesn't it?

And what exactly was the issue when it came to swapping the left and right channels?
