YouTube ads

Can someone please tell me if there's any way to get rid of ads on YouTube? They keep popping up constantly and it's starting to drive me crazy. Thanks!

Yeah, honestly, if you just grab a YouTube Premium subscription, the ads completely disappear.

There’s a million different ways to handle this, and everyone seems to have their own little theory.
Here’s what actually works for me. I use Chrome, stay logged out of my Google account, run an adblocker that covers YouTube, and just accept the cookies for the site. With that setup, I don't see a single ad, yet my watch history stays intact and the recommendations actually make sense based on what I'm watching. The only catch is when I run CCleaner; obviously, that wipes my history, so I have to start from scratch all over again.

I use an adblocker and I don't see ads on sites like Reddit, but YouTube is still giving me a hard time.🕺

Is that a specific kind of adblocker? Does anyone have a link or something?

I suppose everything seems to be functioning quite smoothly for me while using the uBlock Origin extension on Edge.

Clear your history. The first time you hit YouTube, a pop-up should show up asking you to accept cookies—you know, the stuff that lets YouTube track what you actually do. If you don't allow that, you'll just keep getting recommendations based on where you are geographically, showing you what everyone else in America is watching instead of what you actually care about.
That works for me on Chrome when I'm logged out. Honestly, I have no clue if it would even work on Chrome while you're signed in.
