Seriously, where do I even start?So, *The Three-Body Problem* kicks off this whole series that actually snagged some massive honors like the Hugo Award, the Nebula Award, and the John W. Campbell Award. It’s all part of the *Remembrance of Earth's Past* trilogy, which includes *The Dark Forest* and *Death's End*. Get this: the Chinese creators tried to go big with high-profile sci-fi movies based on these books, but things have been a total mess. They were originally planning six different films! Filming wrapped way back in 2015 with a release set for mid-2016, but since then? Nothing but delays. Between the insane pressure to nail the CGI and the massive restructuring over at Warner Bros., the timeline just keeps shifting. Amazon even tried to swoop in this past July to grab the rights for a huge-budget series, but it looks like Warner Bros. is still holding onto everything, whether it ends up as a movie or a show. What a headache, right?

This Chinese sci-fi flick is actually killing it with the critics. Plus, it's already making a massive haul back home in China, so who even cares? $600 million?! Can you even believe that? Finally, after 16 long days!

Thank God we finally have some Chinese creators stepping up to save the day. Honestly, I think we’ve all had our fill of watching Americans play the hero in every single planet-saving blockbuster.

The trailer doesn't look all that promising to me, and I'm a bit skeptical about those box office numbers given it's just a local American production...

Hands down the biggest surprise of 2019. Honestly, I didn't even know this existed a few days ago, but now it’s my favorite—even over the upcoming MCU movies or Godzilla 2.

The story is pretty straightforward but hits hard. The characters feel well-developed, and the CGI is just phenomenal. Highly recommend it.

P.S. Huge props to the filmmakers in China. This kind of work could really kickstart a new wave in their cinema and inspire a lot of creative souls out there.

Given what I knew about the directing background, I wasn't expecting much. It's not like it's going to blow my mind the way Independence Day did, though I did hope for a smoother plot. Some scenes feel a bit naive, which pulled me out of it slightly.

I mentioned the CGI earlier; there's a ton of it, and sometimes the movie just shocks you from one scene to the next. Like, the camera will pan from a massive factory straight to these giant Earth-moving excavators, then a few minutes later you're looking at massive propulsion engines, and so on.

The visual effects are solid, but the plot and dialogue are incredibly weak. The acting feels amateurish most of the time, too. It was also a real struggle because the Chinese actors speak so fast that you're practically forced into a speed-reading marathon just to keep up with the English subtitles.
A decent attempt, but they still need to eat a lot more spinach if they ever want to catch up to Hollywood.

The sequel just dropped on Microsoft. I watched it, laughed, and honestly... ended up tearing up a little.

Interstellar II (2023) is easily one of the best sci-fi blockbusters ever made, if you ask me. Just my two cents. ♥
