Look, props to you. I was just asking nicely, trying to understand what you meant by "think about the verb" so I could actually fix the mistake. But after all that, I’m the one getting lectured? It feels like there's no point in even trying to be helpful if this is how it plays out.

Also, since when is asking for clarification considered trolling? I offered to make the correction once I knew exactly what was wrong, and then—boom—another 35 points taken away. Try looking at this from an outside perspective and tell me you think that's fair.

I have to admit, it wasn't exactly fair.

Normally, if I flag someone’s posts as spam or trolling, they get an immediate red card. No warnings, just straight to the penalty box.
In your case, I actually tried to be the "nice guy" and gave you a chance to course-correct, which honestly went against my own rule of being strictly impartial.

But unfortunately for you—and luckily for the sake of fairness—you didn't take that olive branch. Instead, you decided to pick a fight with me.
So, you ended up getting that red card anyway, just like anyone else would if they acted that way toward someone they're talking to.
Even if you had just tried the "ignore them" tactic, you still would have faced the consequences; it just would have taken a little longer to catch up to you.

So, here's the breakdown:
1. You can't just throw the word "spam" around without backing it up with some solid reasoning.
2. Use more appropriate verbs when you're writing or speaking.
3. It’s bad form to lump your conversation partner into a larger group (which is what you were doing when you said you guys).

Labeling someone else’s posts as spam or trolling should be an immediate red card.

Did I get that right—if you call someone out for trolling, you get hit with a red card?... It seems we aren't supposed to judge what qualifies as trolling, which probably just depends on the topic at hand.

Second thing... what exactly constitutes a red card?... How many points until a full ban?🤷

thanks for the reply

It’s all well-written, sure, but let’s be real—it doesn't actually work like that in practice. It's mostly useless. I’ll just add my two cents: I think anyone claiming aggressive, "in-your-face" advertising is anything other than pure spam and trolling is delusional. No need to argue the point; it's just a blatant lie.

I might print this out; could come in handy.

One more thing: what about replying to someone who's already been banned? Does that fly, or are they protected?

Context matters, obviously. But ultimately, it’s up to the moderators to decide what counts as trolling, which makes calling someone out for it a bit of a gray area.

Points have their own value and an expiration date. Once you hit 100 active points, you get three days of vacation.

I know that—just got back from my own time off yesterday☕...it's just that when you see a red card next to a post without a full ban, how many points does that actually represent?

Amanda Hughes37 said:I hear you! I actually just got back from vacation yesterday☕... but quick question: when you see a red card next to a post, but the person hasn't been banned yet, how many points does that actually count for?

PŽK FAQ
The card itself shows the duration and how many points it carries; just so you know, yellow cards don't carry any points at all.

Daniel Gonzalez9 said:And can we talk about replying to someone who’s already banned? Is that allowed, or are they basically being protected by the rules?

Personally, I think quoting someone under a ban is totally fine.
However, I’d ask everyone to please avoid using direct dialogue in your posts. It feels a bit off to expect a response from someone who literally isn't able to reply anymore.

So I ended up picking up a red card yesterday along with 30 infraction points, and now I'm wondering if that means I've still got 70 left on my record? I'm also trying to figure out what actually happens next and how long this whole thing is going to hang over my head because I find myself needing to ask questions quite often!

It means you’re sitting on a 30-point infraction right now. If you rack up another 70 points over the next 30 days, you'll get a 3-day ban from the forum.

You can find all the specifics regarding cards and durations here.

Please try to actually read the subforum rules before posting. You don't need to start a whole new thread for every single question—you opened three unnecessary threads in just five minutes yesterday.

You missed the actual Q&A thread, but at least you didn't make a brand new one. 😉

edit:
Correction, it was four threads, not three. 🙂

Oh, wow, I had absolutely no idea the rules were that strict, so I’ll definitely be sure to watch my step from now on!
