I’ve been thinking a lot lately about those massive success stories you see in the news—the ones where someone starts with absolutely nothing, maybe even struggling just to get through a basic day, and ends up at the absolute pinnacle of a profession. It’s an incredible narrative, and I truly respect the grit it takes to pull that off, but I can't help but wonder how much of that is actually achievable for the average person today.
It feels like the gap between a "normal" life and that kind of elite, high-level success is widening every single year. I remember my uncle worked a manual job for thirty years, gave it everything he had, and still barely scraped by. He didn't have a "breakthrough moment" that changed the trajectory of his entire family. There’s a certain romanticism in the idea that if you just persevere enough, the world will eventually open its doors to you, but I think we often ignore how much luck and timing play into it.
Do you guys think the "rags to riches" path is becoming a myth, or is it just a matter of finding the right people to believe in you at the right time?
