Issues burning dual-layer DVDs (help needed)

So, I managed to snag this DVD concert rip—you know the type, that classic setup with both the video and audio files—and the whole thing is sitting at about 7GB. I went out and picked up a dual-layer DVD because, well, that's just how I always burn my discs and concert footage 😁 but then I hit this wall. I got this error message


I guess the only thing I actually changed was telling the software to burn to the 8GB disc instead of the usual 4GB one, but still... nothing. Maybe I'm doing something stupid? Just my luck, I suppose.

So I did a little digging online, and apparently, you can just fry it 🤷

It’s entirely possible the burn just failed. Happens all the time with standard DVDs or CDs... 🤷

That power calibration error is usually down to crappy media quality or maybe just an issue with the burner's write speed... regarding the media itself, honestly, your drive might just be picky and refusing to "swallow" that specific brand—you'll probably have to try something else. You aren't having any trouble burning other stuff like CDs or DVDs, right?

Since it’s an IDE-based machine—don't ask me why they'd use that architecture for a brewer, but here we are—I’d suggest booting your PC into Safe Mode before you run the updater... honestly, don't sweat it too much; there isn't much you can actually break here—at worst, things just need a little tweaking to get back on track...
