How to convert MKV to AVI?

I’ve been hunting for a reliable piece of software to convert MKV files over to AVI format, but I’m having a bit of a rough time with it... I actually downloaded this specific "MKV to AVI" converter, but every single time I try to start a conversion, the whole thing just crashes on me. I’ve tried messing around with a few other programs as well, but the results are pretty disappointing; either the audio gets totally distorted or it loses its quality entirely. It seems like MP3 just won't cooperate when I'm trying to convert from MKV, and none of the other audio options were even available to me in those apps...🙄

If you need to convert any video files to a different format, I’d also suggest using WinRAR, just like Jerry Nadell did. 😉
