Issues with Dell backlight?

Alright,

Is this actually a defect? And if so, do you think they'll agree to a replacement?

Actually, that’s totally within the factory specs—with Dell, they allow for a 25% variance between the brightest and darkest points on the panel. Though, honestly, I really hope you aren't sitting there staring at a monitor in pitch-black darkness unless you're looking to absolutely wreck your eyesight.

I'm not actually using it; I just set it up that way so I could take some screenshots.

I can't say I'm thrilled about that rule. It’s not a dealbreaker—I need to see if it actually feels like the movies or not—but there's still this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that bugs me.

You won't even notice it under normal lighting conditions—honestly. And trust me, I've seen plenty of Dell monitors with way worse backlight bleeding than this.
