I activated an international data plan while traveling, but now I'm running into the on the go problem. As soon as I plug my USB modem into my Dell laptop, some background process starts devouring my data at lightning speed, even when I’m not actually browsing anything. Since I'm on a strict data cap, this is a nightmare—I just lost 300 MB in ten minutes without even opening a single tab. Does anyone know how I can identify which specific program is hogging all my bandwidth? Where can I monitor this usage in real-time, and more importantly, how do I kill it? I'm running Windows 10 Home.

Try right-clicking the taskbar and heading over to Performance under the Task Manager—that should show you exactly what’s eating up your resources in the background. Honestly, if your Windows isn't fully up to date, I'd bet my money it's just a Windows update running its course. But hey, check for yourself... If you aren't quite sure how to pull up the Task Manager, just right-click that Start icon in the bottom left corner and you'll see the option right there.
