I have a Logitech G110 keyboard
purchased at the end of April this year... so it isn't even six months old yet
about a month or two ago, it started acting up

It just disconnects on its own... Windows tells me there's a USB issue and that the USB device isn't working properly
The disconnects seem totally random... I haven't noticed any pattern related to what I'm doing on my PC... sometimes it happens while I'm typing text, sometimes during a game, and sometimes when I'm just sitting idle...
Some days it works perfectly, other days it drops out several times a day

When it stops working, the keys won't register, but the light stays on (so it isn't losing power); actually, the color doesn't even change (which you can normally adjust, otherwise it defaults to blue)
What's even more confusing is that sometimes restarting the computer helps, and sometimes it doesn't... basically, it's hit or miss after a reboot
Sometimes unplugging it from the USB port and plugging it back in works, and sometimes it doesn't; occasionally it says a new USB device was found and successfully installed, but other times it says it found a new device but failed to install it...
To make matters worse... when I unplug and replug it, sometimes the key colors reset to blue, and other times they stay as the color I customized
I already tried switching USB ports, but it’s pretty much the same result across all of them

We tested it on my boyfriend's computer... it was there for at least 4 days (maybe 5 or 6) and he didn't have a single issue with it

I recently installed the latest version of the software: Logitech gaming software v8.00.127 x64
That didn't help
I updated my Motherboard : Gigabyte M55S-S3 drivers
That didn't help either

I am honestly at a loss here... 😕
I don't see much point in taking it to a repair shop if it works fine on another computer... I'm starting to think the issue might be with my own PC... though I'm not sure why...

I am running Windows 7 64-bit
Motherboard : Gigabyte M55S-S3 (nForce 550 chipset)

I also have Logitech G930 headphones, which work flawlessly
I mention that not to brag (😛), but because I heard a rumor that having multiple Logitech devices can cause software conflicts... it's just something I've heard, though I'm not sure if it's true... 🤷

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated (other than reinstalling Windows... 😛 that is my absolute last resort)

Sorry for the walloftext, but usually, the more details provided, the faster a solution is found.
Please, please, please... if anyone has a solution... 🙂
I'm going to lose my mind... this is my first high-quality keyboard, and I can't believe I'm dealing with these issues... 🙂

Look, if it was working perfectly fine on another rig, then you might be looking at a motherboard issue on your end. Try plugging that PS/2 connector directly into the motherboard and see what happens... Honestly, the best move is to just test it on a third computer altogether. If it works there too, then you know for a fact the keyboard isn't the culprit!

I’m starting to accept the idea that nobody actually has a solution for this...
I’d love to test if it works by using a USB to PS/2 adapter, but despite having a mountain of cables and adapters, I don't have that specific one—even though I have the mouse version right here. 🙂
Even if I did try it, I doubt I'd get full functionality (like the macro keys and other special features), but I'm curious if the basic typing would even work.

I tend to blame the motherboard or macOS, but since my other USB devices work perfectly fine, it's probably not an issue with the USB ports themselves...

I'll try to track down a USB to PS/2 adapter for the keyboard...
As for a third computer... that's a stretch. I don't own a third machine (two is already plenty 🤣), and I don't really have close enough friends who wouldn't mind letting me borrow their setup for a few days just to see if it works.

If anyone else has a bright idea, please let me know... 😁

By the way, if you're wondering how I'm typing while my keyboard is dead... it's either via the Virtual Keyboard (which is a total nightmare) or this old wireless keyboard I picked up over five years ago for about $60 $23 bundled with a wireless mouse that never actually worked. I never even bothered taking the set in for repair because the warranty had long expired... I honestly can't believe this cheap, out-of-warranty junk still functions, while this expensive, high-end new one is completely failing me 🙂
