So, whenever I try printing in color, everything comes out looking way too red. Weirdly enough, if I just use the copier function on the machine itself, the colors look totally fine.
I tried reinstalling the drivers and ended up with three different printer options in my settings—basically three different languages (PS, PCL, and some other one). If I go with the PostScript option, the red isn't quite as intense, but it still looks off.
I’m guessing this is a computer issue, right? Because if it were a hardware problem with the printer, even the direct copying wouldn't look this bad.
Should I just take it to a repair shop or what?

Not enough data here. If he’s copying and pasting this stuff incorrectly, the service is useless. Just try printing some plain text you just typed up in Notepad and let me know how it goes. Also, check if you're actually out of black toner.

I tried reinstalling the drivers and now I have three different printer languages showing up in my properties—PostScript, PCL, and some other one. If I select PostScript, the redness isn't quite as bad, but the colors still aren't right.
I’m guessing this is a computer issue, because if it were the hardware, the colors would be messed up during copying, too.

Just search Google >> Bloomberg test

Print out a test page, scan it back in, and then we can all see something standardized.

The test page prints look great—color palettes are spot on—but my JPGs and PDFs? Total disaster. It makes zero sense. It’s like the printer is overcompensating with magenta during the color mixing process. Blues turn purple, whites look pinkish, and greens come out looking muddy. I grabbed a utility tool from the HP website, so I’m going to give that a shot and see if it fixes things.

Your color profile is totally off. You need to run a color calibration. You can calibrate each piece of gear individually—your monitor, scanner, printer—but you’ll get much better results if you calibrate the whole workflow together. The best way is to scan something, print it out, then scan that print again to see where the discrepancy lies. Pros use specialized hardware and dedicated software for this; it’s an investment, but if you're serious about this work, it pays off.

Try digging up a specific color profile for your printer or hunting down some calibration files tailored to your exact model here:

Fixed it. Just hit the factory reset on the printer, reinstalled the software, and boom—works like a charm. Honestly, the print quality from my PC looks way better than what I was getting off the thumb drive. No clue why it needed an admin password just to reset everything in the first place. 🙂
