Does this forum sell any merch? Like T-shirts, button-downs, or maybe some branded pants? Just wondering if there's anything official I can grab.

Also, I was curious if you guys ever do meetups or parties—just a big get-together for the community. Has anything happened like that before, or is there anything on the calendar? What actually happens at these things? And are the organizers the actual admins?

Speaking of admins, are they full-time employees of the company running this site, or are they more like moderators who just happen to have extra permissions?

I don't see much advertising besides that one banner at the top and the usual Google ads. It makes me wonder if the owners are happy with the revenue this place pulls in, aside from paying all the staff, obviously.

How did this place even get so big? How did it start up? Did everyone just sign up all at once and start posting, or was it a slow build? The slow way sounds kind of lonely since you'd be talking to an empty room for a while.

So, it’s on me to ask them, and it's up to the moderator to merge this thread if they think it overlaps with anything else (though honestly, 80% of it doesn't).

Man, I feel like I've already answered half these questions in other threads.

As far as I know, there isn't any official themed gear or anything like that. We do get together, though—I think we meet up about twice a year in Washington, D.C.—and they always drop a global announcement well in advance so everyone can plan ahead. The last one was this.

Well, isn't it because posting photos of other people is actually against the rules? This whole forum is built on the idea of privacy—that's why we all use handles instead of dropping our full names and Social Security numbers everywhere.😁 😁
