Anyone know if I can just swap out a section of the battery, specifically that cable where it plugs into the unit, assuming the specs match up perfectly.

The connector cable on one of my laptops basically disintegrated right at the entry point. I was thinking maybe I could just scavenge the wire from another old battery—just the cable itself, not the whole battery pack.

Here are the specs; I’m just looking to transplant a new cable into this first battery.

The cables from both look like they should fit into either battery.

I'm definitely not an expert here, so if anyone actually knows what they're doing, let me know.

That part in the photos has zero to do with the battery. That’s just the AC adapter you use to power the laptop (the actual charging regulator and battery are all tucked away inside the machine).
Since the specs match up—we're talking 19V and 3.42A, plus the polarity is identical—you can totally just grab another adapter if it's working right. It'll save you the headache of constantly swapping cables back and forth.
