I’ve been diagnosed with Behçet's disease... by the neurology department over at the Mayo Clinic... however, the immunologist doesn't actually agree with the diagnosis... and frankly, neither do I. I have no idea what is actually happening to me. For an entire year, I have been running tests—every single test available, from lumbar punctures to Gallium scans. What I really need to know is if there is a specialist in America who truly focuses on Behçet's disease... I have an appointment scheduled with an immunologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital this November. I have already read a million articles online about Behçet's... and to top it all off, my discharge papers stated there is no known cause and no treatment... yet they had me on corticosteroids for five days. I am at a loss for what to do next. I am worried... and quite frankly, I am losing my patience with these doctors.
