I am reaching out because I could really use some guidance,

A few days ago, my father was admitted to the hospital after suffering a ruptured ulcer in his duodenum and another one in his esophagus. We thought we had seen the worst of it, but then things took an unexpected turn. During a routine abdominal ultrasound, the doctors spotted a shadow on his liver. As far as we can tell, his other organs are functioning perfectly normally, and his lung scans came back clear as well. Even his bloodwork looks impeccable; the doctors were actually remarking that his blood counts look as healthy as a young child's, whatever that implies in medical terms. Most importantly, he’s feeling quite well himself.
Does anyone have any insight into what this might potentially be? He is scheduled for a CT scan next Wednesday, but the agonizing wait until then is driving me absolutely out of my mind.
Thank you all so much in advance.
