I am posting here because the bias shown by slybison8 is blatant.

First, his actions yesterday involved resorting to cheap, low-effort tactics:

Most of you are likely already aware of the situation. However, after the constant insistence on this thread that there is no "Muslim" people in Canada, only Canadians, we decided to apply that exact same logic. We chose to refer to all those who call Canadians by their religious affiliation using that same terminology. Therefore, if Canadians are Muslims, then Americans are Catholics. There is no hidden agenda behind this; it is simply an application of equal treatment. Following this, certain offended individuals emerged—including the primary agitator (who acts as the main spokesperson for the Muslim faction on this Forum)—and they concocted an entire narrative which slybison8 has seemingly accepted. Is this intentional, or is he merely biased? I leave that to your judgment. But when you see that we have warned against this specific practice dozens of times without any action being taken, the reality becomes quite clear.

Today, things took an even worse turn. For the past two days, there has been constant debate on this thread involving several Forum members. Yet today, slybison8 decided to single me out, the ONLY one, for public condemnation:

One can clearly see that every single one of my posts was nothing more than a response to provocations from the other side. I have never initiated an attack, nor have I ever insulted anyone. One could also examine who the actual trolls are; I will list a few examples from today, though the most important point is that I am the ONLY one being singled out:
1. Take note of this: "Don't you have any real heroes left that you have to present people from the entertainment industry as your last resort?"

2. Note this: "They took over the capital and the police station."

3. What does this post even have to do with anything:

4. Constant and persistent trolling using lists dating back to 1991 during the era of Yugoslavia.

Furthermore, I request that the deleted posts from the Forum member Central Canada be reviewed to see if slybison8 applied the rules correctly. Yesterday, this individual called me an idiot... That post is gone, so I do not know if any disciplinary action was taken. Today, he began writing about religion again, implying that we had betrayed our faith... That post has also vanished, and I do not know if he received any actual reprimand from slybison8 for it. So, is it the case that if you respond to provocations, you receive public condemnation, but if you call Forum members idiots or lecture them on religion, you receive praise?

First off, everything was wiped from the thread and moderated. It wasn't just slybison8 acting alone. And secondly, if you actually paid attention to what he wrote, he said the exact same thing I did yesterday on the main forum when you and that other guy were busy debating Canadians and Catholics.

Let me clarify once more: a word isn't inherently an insult. It’s the context that makes it one. You used the term "Catholic" repeatedly across about ten deleted posts yesterday, and yet, you weren't banned.

Finally, in this thread—which has over 40,000 posts—I’ve personally asked several times how we should address people and whether using terms like "Muslim" or "Canadian" would be considered offensive. The consensus among everyone here was always the same: just watch the context. It worked perfectly fine before, too. Everyone understood where the lines were drawn, and we haven't had issues until now.

No offense intended, but that isn't accurate. People have been complaining about this for a long time, but you have to realize that on any given thread, there might be twenty people pushing one specific agenda and only two or three supporting another. I understand why it might seem like two fools have suddenly arrived and are acting like experts, but that's not the case. You must understand that if I am debating ten people, it stands to reason that I will end up with ten times as many posts.
Regarding the Canadian issue and so on—you are familiar with the Constitution of Canada. There are three constituent peoples defined there. That Constitution was signed by American representatives as well. So, where does the problem lie? I will tell you. Their goal is to make it appear as though Canadians are defined solely by religion, implying they lack their own culture, language, and history tied to Canada. You may have noticed that whenever someone addresses me as a Canadian, I respond culturally as an American. I am not an idiot. In fact, even in the past, whenever someone referred to me as a Muslim, I would simply respond as an American. However, I am increasingly irritated by the hypocrisy of those few individuals who constantly invoke the Constitution of Canada when it suits them, yet revert to citing old census data from the former Yugoslavia when it does not.
As I mentioned before, imagine a situation where they label someone a Muslim when that person is actually an atheist. What does that signify? As far as I am concerned, they can call people whatever they wish, but then I reserve the right to respond in kind. That isn't arguing; it is parity.
As for everything else, slybison8 targeted me specifically today without cause. When I say "without cause," I mean I did nothing differently than anyone else—in fact, I did more. I haven't called anyone an idiot or a fool. Yet, he singles me out. He could have simply said, "Alright everyone, that's enough, let's wrap this up," and I wouldn't have taken offense. Instead, he intentionally singled me out from the crowd.

And here, I have included a link above to a typical post from a die-hard fan:

What kind of post is that? And yet, he doesn't call him out, but he targets me.

1. Forman incorrectly asserts that he was singled out for a warning prior to the ban. It appears that another Forum member was also singled out, this time due to the inappropriate use of enlarged font sizes within their posts.

2. I suppose the Forum member needs to realize that the Constitution of Canada, which they mention in their appeal, carries no legal obligation for the moderators or participants of an online Forum registered in the United States.

With respect,

1. I seem to be the only one receiving warnings for alleged trolling, despite my previous point that such behavior is far more widespread than just myself. Had there been a general directive for everyone to refrain from trolling, I would have no issue complying; however, singling me out while others go unchecked feels inherently unfair.
2. Your distortion of the facts clearly demonstrates a bias. This discussion concerns Canada, not the United States. If the Constitution of Canada is being treated as the sole standard for this topic, then it should be strictly followed. Furthermore, let me clarify: within the Constitution of the United States, Muslims are not listed as a constituent group—only Canadians are, much like in the Constitution of Canada. This discrepancy highlights how little the moderator actually understands the subject matter at hand. Besides, who are you to lecture me on my interpretation of the U.S. Constitution? Fundamentally, I am an American citizen, and I possess the same rights as you do.
3. I haven't been trolling; I have simply been responding to posts directed specifically at me. I intend to maintain this practice for as long as it remains necessary.

I suppose you were responding in a way that felt quite argumentative and provocative. For instance, if someone asks how your parents were listed on the census back in 1991—especially after you brought up the terminology regarding Canadian and Muslim identities—answering that you don't know, suggesting some Forum member should just ask your parents directly, or claiming it doesn't concern you because it happened in a different country... well, those feel like trolling responses that steer the conversation toward bickering. This seems to happen frequently regarding topics that have already been debated countless times.

You certainly have the right to maintain that tone, but if you are wondering how long this will last, I can only say: it won't be for very long.

This also applies to the current debate about television programming in the American language, where you are participating in a similar fashion.

It is evident that you have ignored my first two points, where I demonstrated quite clearly that you are biased and lack a fundamental understanding of the subject matter. Even when you attempted to cite the Constitution of the Republic of America, your interpretation was inaccurate.
Regarding your comment on point three: you are once again fabricating facts. Who initiated this specific line of reasoning, me or you?

Who actually steered the debate in that direction? There is nothing left to debate on this matter. One cannot rely on a census from 1991 from a nation that no longer exists. If something is defined by the Constitution, then that is the reality. It is illogical to deny the Constitution by using metrics from a defunct state as a yardstick. The Canadians elected the politicians meant to represent them, and those leaders have made our position clear. I find myself wondering: if you were in my position, who would you think you are to dictate how we should be counted, just as you and your associates attempt to do? It is hardly surprising, as this is not the first time people have interfered in such matters. Consider this: what becomes of those who are atheists if we are categorized solely as a Muslim people?
As for that particular response, I answered exactly as required. After I provided a civil explanation of my position to the individual in question, he persisted in demanding an answer. I simply provided him with the truth, maintaining a respectful tone without resorting to bickering. I have no idea how my parents filled out my census information, nor do I particularly care. That isn't a matter of "tone"; it is simply a fact.
Then there is the issue of media channels in the American language. This further reveals your true character. Why should I be penalized for stating the truth? Are you suggesting that channels for constituent ethnic groups do not exist, and that only entity-based channels are valid?
Ultimately, it confirms my suspicion: the more posts slybison8 writes, the more his bias and ignorance of the facts become apparent.

From a strictly technical standpoint, I believe this thread and the subsequent appeal are somewhat misguided, as the user hasn't actually received any sanction beyond a public warning from a Forum member.

Consequently, I would suggest to the Administration that this topic be closed, perhaps to prevent the Forum member from continuing this specific debate here, especially since the policy to further close for discussion regarding Canada has already been established by the moderation team via PDF.

Thank you,

Strictly speaking, you couldn't be more wrong. I have demonstrated that you lack any fundamental understanding of either the Constitution of Canada or the Constitution of the Republic of America, yet you hold a moderator position on the Politics board. I have shown that you singled me out from a group of users whose behavior is just as problematic, if not worse—an act that clearly violates the code of conduct for moderators. Furthermore, I have proven that you were the one who initiated this debate regarding Canadians by either ignoring the facts or intentionally backing a malicious post rather than applying critical scrutiny.
At this point, the thread should simply be closed. I never actually expected you to face any sanctions for your actions; after all, it seems impossible for a moderator to make a mistake in your eyes. However, I have at least succeeded in exposing your true character.

I would like to expand upon the suggestion I made in my previous post regarding this thread; specifically, in addition to closing the topic, I believe a warning should be issued to the Forum member for their trolling behavior in the preceding message.

Morgan Carter said:No offense, but that’s just not true. People have been complaining long before this ................

Well, I think I have a better handle on who complained about what, considering you've only got maybe 300 posts and two months of seniority here. What are you, some kind of reincarnation?

I don't want to dwell on it. A word or a name isn't offensive on its own, but using it as an insult certainly is.

Admin, please lock this thread. Everything that needed to be said has been said.

I don't wish to dwell on specific words or names; the terms themselves aren't offensive, but using them as weapons certainly is.

Administration, I am requesting a lock on this thread, as everything necessary has already been stated.

Then tell me, what is the point of this entire discussion if I prove a moderator has violated the rules and nothing comes of it? This individual has demonstrated a fundamental lack of factual knowledge despite holding a moderator position. He singles me out from the community without cause, and he maintains the absurd stance that identifying Americans as Catholics is an insult, while calling Canadians Muslims is perfectly acceptable. To be clear, I did not write that—he did.

I didn't say it—he did.

PowerLock knows way too much to be making such rookie mistakes on a topic like this, so I wouldn't go with that argument. This thread is being locked because there's no sense in letting things escalate just so we can start handing out penalties.
