Why was this thread locked? The guy's probably just trolling, but honestly, he might actually be onto something. It’s not like calling the cops is the only way to handle this, regardless of what the mod said.

The thread has been locked to prevent further trolling. The moderator made the right call here—if these allegations are true, this forum isn't equipped to handle a criminal matter involving sexual assault. If it’s just someone being a troll, locking it was still the best way to stop the chaos.

Thanks for clearing that up. Look, I’m no legal expert, but I seriously doubt there’s some rule saying you *have* to report a crime immediately or that we aren't allowed to talk about it. And if people started using DMs instead of the public boards, they'd basically have an excuse to shut down every single thread! Honestly, I don't think the mod did anything too crazy—I might have even done the same thing if I were in their shoes—but it still feels a little off to me.

It was handled as fairly as possible.
The thread was basically a magnet for drama.
Without even getting into whether the user was trolling, it was a personal topic where someone asked for help; once decent advice was given, there was really no reason to let the nasty comments keep rolling in.
