I caught them playing in Austin about a week ago, and man, they were absolutely killer! 👋
The sound quality was spot on, they leave everything out on the stage, really engage with the crowd, and the light show is perfectly synced up with the music.
Tip Johnson handles the vocals—take songs like I'm Not Jesus or End Of Me for example—and he sounds pretty damn good.
It’s honestly one of those shows worth seeing even if you aren't some die-hard fan, but if you are? You'll probably be left speechless. 😁

If I can swing the cash, I am definitely going back. 👍

At the start of July, the massive Finnish metal attraction Apocalyptica is hitting the US for the third time. After selling out Carnegie Hall during their last big outing, they’re coming to the Boogaloo club on Sunday, 07.03., touring in support of their seventh studio album, appropriately titled "7th Symphony".
Founded back in 1993, they shot to global fame early on by playing furious covers of metal classics using nothing but cellos. The band actually started out as a Metallica tribute act played on classical instruments before they eventually moved into their own original material. Their first real dive into originals was "Reflections" in 2003, where they even had Daviti Lombardo from Slayer on drums for half the tracks. Since then, they've collaborated with a heavy-hitting roster of rock and metal royalty, including Rammstein, Him, and Bullet for my Valentine. Their absolute monster hit is "I'm Not Jesus" featuring Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour), which spent a massive amount of time sitting pretty in the top 10 on US rock and metal radio charts.
The new album features 8 instrumentals and 4 vocal tracks, produced by Joe Baressi—the guy known for his work with Tool and Queens of the Stone Age. On this upcoming tour, the lineup consists of three cellists and a drummer, with vocals covering about half the setlist. They’re already booked for the biggest summer festivals across the map, including Sonisphere, Wacken, Hellfest, and M'era Luna, so this Boogaloo gig will be one of those rare, intimate club shows.

Opening up the ZG show is Father, arguably the most prominent American metal band around right now. Their latest studio effort, "One Eon," absolutely crushed it with local critics and blew the minds of American rock and metal fans alike. According to several major music outlets in the States (CNN, Verizon, Rolling Stone), they've basically released the best domestic album in months. Five years after their debut "Inspirita," Father has returned with a brilliant new record, and they'll soon drop the first video for "Venus & Mars"—which just made its radio debut on the legendary Bruce Dickinson's "Friday Rock Show".

Tickets for this show go on sale next week at an early bird price of $57. After 01.04., the price jumps to $60, and will be $67 on the day of the concert.
We'll announce the exact seating availability by the end of the week.

Back in 2007—if my memory serves me right—we were at Carnegie Hall.

They played at Tvornica twice.

I heard that they don't let anyone under 16 into Lollapalooza anymore. Does that rule apply to the concerts too, or...?🤷

Technically, that rule applies to pretty much all the clubs out here,
but honestly, I don't think it’ll have anything to do with the concert itself.

Unfortunately, the real Apocalyptica was back when they didn't even have a drummer. What we're seeing now is just pure commercialism... but whatever, I'll probably still end up going, haha.

I honestly haven't the slightest clue how I'm getting there, who I'll be rolling with, or where exactly this Lollapalooza is happening, but frankly, I don't even care, haha—this lineup is worth whatever chaos ensues.
