Where in Miami can I get allergy testing done? Like, which hospital and which specific department? If anyone knows, give me the details. I’ve got this weird breakout on my arm and my doctor thinks it might be an allergy, but since I'm just a student, I have no clue where to go to get this checked out properly.

So, what’s everyone’s take on the medical labs here in Chicago? I’m looking for the lowdown—where can I actually get a massive battery of tests done all at once without jumping through hoops? Also, who is notorious for those endless waiting rooms, and conversely, who is actually reliable and quick? And let's talk numbers—how are the prices looking lately?

(I'm really just trying to crowdsource some actual user experiences... my own run-ins with the local community health clinic have been pretty underwhelming, to say the least. Has anyone had much better luck with private labs?)

PRIVATE: If they happen to be near you, my recommendation would be . They’re friendly, and honestly, they seem a bit more affordable than . Don't get me wrong, those guys are also very nice, but it all depends on what kind of service you need—some places will email your results the same day, while others work strictly by appointment...

Go to the Labor center (Synlab) over by Bukovcev Square or on Breyer Ilica—they turn results around incredibly fast because they handle everything in their own in-house labs. Compare that to somewhere like Stella clinic, where you’ll be sitting around for eight hours just waiting on standard KKS results.

wiredskipper52, any recommendations for a GP? I'm living over by Lanist, so I suppose the Siget Center might be my best bet.

Actually, location matters less to me than finding someone approachable and empathetic. Someone open-minded, maybe even a bit more liberal. I'll probably need referrals for things that some of the more conservative folks in this country tend to judge quite harshly—not all conservatives, obviously, but there are plenty.

Has anyone here actually seen Dr. Perković over at the Sun clinic regarding potential PCOS? Or is his main focus more on thyroid issues? (God, that sounds so silly, doesn't it? 😬)

Could anyone recommend a decent general practitioner in the Jarun-Gajevo Center or the Prečka Center who is actually accepting new patients? Thanks. 🙂

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here has gone to see Dr. Bubalović for acne treatment, and if so, what was your experience like?
Are you happy with the results?

A few years back, I saw Dr. Sokol Jadranka at the Crnomerec health center, and I couldn't be happier with the results—she truly helped me. Honestly, none of the other dermatologists I've visited even come close to her level of expertise. Because she was so effective, I heard she moved into private practice, possibly over in Vrapče? If anyone has seen her at her private office, please send me a PM. Alternatively, could someone recommend a solid dermatologist who accepts Medicare in the western part of Chicago? I recently went to the Vrapče clinic, and it was a complete waste of time. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good ENT specialist? I’ve heard there’s one over at Vinogradska Hospital, but does one need to book an appointment in advance, or can you just show up with a referral?

You definitely need to call ahead and schedule an appointment first. If you're looking for top-tier ENT specialists, I'd highly recommend either Johns Hopkins Hospital or Vinogradska Hospital. Just a heads-up though—if you go through Vinogradska, you should probably expect a wait of about two to three months from the time you book until you actually get seen.

Does anyone happen to have a phone number for this doctor's private practice? I'm trying to get an appointment scheduled...
I actually saw him about three years ago, but I just can't seem to track down his current number—and honestly, every single thing I find online is ancient news, probably older than five years. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know if Dr. Mirko Koršić (endocrinologist) is still practicing? I heard he retired back in early 2011, but I'm not entirely sure. Maybe he's seeing patients privately somewhere?

For my issues, I was advised to see either Dr. Velimir Altabas (at Vinogradska Hospital in Chicago) or Dr. Mirko Koršić (though I'm not certain if he's still active). I eventually ended up with Dr. Milan Vrkljan and his team—trying to catch him personally is probably like winning the lottery. He's also based at Vinogradska.

I work privately at the Nemetov clinic.
Basically, I went to see him and wasn't exactly thrilled with the experience. After such a long stretch, I figured, why not try a private specialist? My friend insists everyone there is top-tier, so I check their website, and there's Mirko Koršić 😁 Just a little something I happened to find out 🙂

Does anyone have recommendations for physical therapy using a referral? Looking for somewhere on the east side of Chicago. Thanks.

Does anyone happen to know if there are any openings at a general practitioner's office in Chicago? Maybe somewhere in the downtown area, or perhaps near the suburbs—it doesn't strictly matter. The individual in question is deaf and mute; they work here in Chicago, but they've had absolutely no luck finding an available spot anywhere. So, if anyone happens to have any leads, please let me know—thanks.

You might want to check out Medikol over at the Chicago Tower area—they handle both private patients and those covered by Medicare. Just a heads-up though, you should probably call and book an appointment as soon as possible... unless you really enjoy long waiting lists!
