Yeah... they told me it's super packed right now, and if I push my appointment back, the next opening won't be for another whole year!

Who would you guys recommend in the greater Los Angeles area?
Why them though?

I'm looking into getting stitches done.

Thanks!

Why?

I'm looking into getting stitches removed.

thanks!

Dr. Aleksandar Milenović... he's at the IMED clinic privately... but he's actually a head and neck maxillofacial surgeon over at Dubrava Clinic too... plus he does plastic and cosmetic surgery
If you're interested, just do a quick Google search

Personally... if I ever needed anything done, he's the only one I'd go to.

Does anyone here have firsthand experience with spinal surgery performed by Perović at the St. Catherine Clinic in Zabok? I'd appreciate any insight you can share.🤔🤔

Does anyone have any insight on the dermatologist in Rijeka—Dr. Irena Stanić?
Can you see her using a referral, or is it strictly out-of-pocket?
Hvala

Thanks!

Dr. Helena Žirović.

It's not at the local health center, it's actually over in that massive building right where Saville, Adams, and Horvaćanski intersect.

That doctor actually goes by Šimurina now. And if you want a real recommendation—I've been seeing her since '93—don't even bother going there...

That building is right next to mine.

So, what now?

Those conflicting opinions. 🙂

Just what I need—another mediocre GP.

I really don't need another terrible GP on my list...

Besides, in my opinion, Helena Šimurina isn't exactly great, and she's out on sick leave so often that every time you show up at the clinic over the last six months, there’s some new doctor sitting there instead.

Anyway, when things get this messy with mixed reviews, I always wait until I have at least five solid positive recommendations before I trust a doctor...

That’s my rule too...
The more positive feedback we get, the better.

But what about those doctors over at the Albaharijev Clinic?

Cindrić Jasna, Bergman-Marković Biserka, Suzana Kumbrija??

Found them just by doing a quick Google search.

Well, I’m actually seeing Suzana Kumbrija right now...
The biggest downside for me is that you have to book an appointment ahead of time—honestly, I’ve never had an emergency where I needed to rush in immediately, so I haven't tested if they'd see me on the spot, but usually, I've had to wait about 4 or 5 days.
As far as the doctor goes, she's fine—the nurse is too.
They're both pleasant enough. I don't usually stay long, so if you don't mind the scheduling thing, just sign up. Then again, I suppose you could call and say, "Look, I'm in pain, can I come in?" just so they don't turn you away...
Where did all the good old-fashioned doctors go? You know, the ones where you'd show up when you felt sick and just wait two hours in the lobby... 😁😁

I've actually been seeing the doctor at that clinic for a long time, which is why her old last name slipped out by accident earlier.

I think she's great and have zero complaints about her work.
The nurse there is also super sweet and kind.

She came back from maternity leave about six months ago, so she might be taking some vacation time or just dealing with baby stuff—who knows.
It doesn't bother me at all. We're people, not robots; we get sick, and our kids get sick too... 🤷
And honestly, I've never had a bad experience with any of the substitute doctors they've had.

If you're really that unhappy, why not just find a new doctor?

So why don't you just switch doctors if you're so unhappy?

Since you're really looking for an argument, I'll tell you—though trying to defend her will probably backfire on you... She was "great and kind" for years when my biggest issues were just seasonal allergies and the flu. But once a real issue popped up that required basic triage—actual diagnostics—her medical knowledge turned out to be a total disaster. It cost me a fortune and wasted so much time. Not to mention she wouldn't even bother examining me to figure out what was wrong, leaving me unable to work for over two years due to a problem that should have been a quick surgical fix. She never even referred me to a surgeon; when I said I'd go myself, she claimed there was no reason to send me. There's more, but I'm in a rush...

I'm switching, obviously. But since my issues aren't gone yet, there's a real chance I'll need extended medical leave again, and that clinic has a decent administrator. That's the only reason I'm still going there.

It’s a real bummer... my biggest gripe is that you actually have to book an appointment ahead of time. Honestly, I’ve never had a situation so urgent that I needed to rush in right this second, so I never really knew if they could just squeeze me in. Instead, I’ve ended up waiting around for four or five days on a few different occasions.
The doctor is fine, and the nurse is alright too.
They’re nice enough. Personally, I don't stick around too long, so if you don't mind that whole ordering process, just go ahead and sign up. Honestly, I still think you should just call them and tell them exactly where it hurts—even if you have to make up a reason—just so they don't turn you away.
Where did all the good old-school doctors go? Nowadays, if you actually feel sick, you show up only to sit around waiting for two hours. 😁😁

Actually, this whole online booking thing is pretty great. From what I can tell, the goal is to get every single clinic running on this kind of system.

No doctor is going to turn away a patient if it's an emergency, regardless of whether they had an appointment. It works the exact same way with dentists—if they catch you mid-crisis, they’re going to take you in, even if you didn't book ahead.

I’ll admit, I was pretty skeptical about how this whole system works at first, but now? I'm actually impressed. A couple of times, I just showed up without an appointment because I wasn't feeling well, and they took me in without any issues. I just had to hang out in the waiting room for a bit while they finished up with the people who actually had reservations.

I really need to get my eyes checked out, but honestly, I’m totally lost on where to go right now.

Has anyone here actually been to the Mayo Clinic for an eye exam? Specifically, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what their experience was like with Dr. Mišić?
