I’m going to say this one more time. I am looking for a solid endocrinologist—specifically someone specializing in thyroid issues—in Chicago, for private practice. If you have a recommendation, please just shoot me a DM, because I’m officially stepping away from following this thread. Thanks. 🙂

rapidfox19 said:Hey everyone!! So, after dealing with hearing loss getting worse for about two years and this recent ringing in my ears starting up, I finally got my diagnosis yesterday—H90, conductive and sensorineural hearing loss. Basically, it’s otosclerosis.
They're recommending surgery on my left ear—a stapedotomy. I actually went in to see Dr. Srećka Branica for an exam, and he mentioned he performs those kinds of procedures.
I was wondering if anyone here knows much about him? Or if anyone could recommend a top-tier surgeon specifically for a stapedotomy?
Honestly, I don't know anything about the whole process, and it's all still hitting me pretty hard—the fact that I'm losing my hearing and need surgery is kind of a shock, but it is what it is. I'm just trying to figure out who actually does these operations and who the absolute best is!
Thanks!

You should definitely head over to the Mayo Clinic ENT Clinic to get a second opinion.

Milton is great... I saw him once for some legal stuff, and he's super professional. BUT—he isn't cheap.

I noticed some other three doctors being mentioned for that procedure at the Mayo Clinic, but since there aren't really any forums about this specific surgery, I have zero clue which one is actually top-tier... Dr. Branica himself told me he's one of only three doctors performing this operation in the entire US, and honestly, I'm kind of freaking out...

I'm not quite sure what you're dealing with specifically, but I found that Ivan Golubiček was incredibly helpful; he works privately over at Abargo Rehab in Queens. Maja Cesarec is also an option since she practices there as well. You might just want to check on how much availability Golubicek actually has, because he stays so busy traveling around with all our pro athletes.

Just be sure to check Ivan Golubiček's availability; he maintains a very demanding schedule traveling extensively with many of our top athletes.

Thank you. I have reviewed their website, and both professionals seem quite promising. Honestly, I really need to get myself back in shape; there are so many physical discomforts that are starting to bother me.☕

Looks like I'm dealing with some major testosterone issues, and I haven't even hit 20 yet.
Could someone recommend a solid endocrinologist in Miami? I'd be incredibly grateful for the help...

I’m looking for a recommendation for a primary care physician in Brooklyn—ideally someone located around Queens.

It is vital to me that they are a true clinician—someone who actually examines you—rather than just staring at a computer screen and Googling symptoms to come up with a diagnosis—and I’d prefer somewhere where the wait times aren't an absolute nightmare.

...plus, of course, they need to be accepting new patients.

Thanks so much!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good pediatrician who's good with kids and located around Queens?

To be honest, the most important thing for me is finding someone who won't just hand out antibiotics without running tests, and who isn't stingy with referrals. It would also be great if they had CRP testing available right in the office.😁

So, here’s the situation. A girl from Canada is looking to head over to the Rib in Chicago to get some neurological testing done. Since she's coming in as a private patient—being a foreign citizen and all—does anyone happen to know what the costs look like for an exam and various tests at the Rib? Also, if you have any recommendations for a top-tier neurologist there, please let me know!

I was given a diagnosis that just doesn't make any sense when you look at my actual blood work (hypothyroidism).
Honestly, I think he’s just desperate and making up diagnoses. He pushes procedures you don't even need and talks your ear off—it feels like he's just overcompensating because he doesn't actually have enough patients!

Nicole Newman15 said:So, here's the deal. A girl from Canada is looking to come down to the Mayo Clinic in Chicago to see a neurologist for some testing. Since she’s paying out of pocket as a foreign citizen, does anyone know what the ballpark cost would be for an exam and tests at the Mayo Clinic, and who is the absolute best neurologist there?

In my experience, Canadian & Canadian folks (and basically anyone else without local insurance, including those coming over with European Union coverage) end up paying for their exams—to the hospital, not me—around $100. Up until recently, it was closer to $27, but now Medicare has actually approved that amount.

It's probably the same story when it comes to seeing a neurologist.

It really just depends on which specific branch of neurology she's looking for.

Does anyone happen to know if there's an urgent care dermatology clinic or any other facility I could reach out to? I'm not actually from Chicago—I'm just here for school—and I really need to see a doctor.

Roughly 40 USD.

You should try the Vinogradski clinic.

I'm on the hunt for a solid primary care doctor and a gynecologist (preferably a woman) in the Chicago area, specifically around the West Side near the neighborhoods of Knežija and Prečko, and I really need someone who's actually accepting new patients right now...
