Hey everyone...

Yesterday was the first time in my life I actually felt back pain. It isn't unbearable—it doesn't hurt *that* much—but honestly, I’m freaking out a bit. I know how many people deal with this stuff and how easily it turns into a chronic nightmare. Since this is the first time it's ever happened to me, I want to nip it in the bud if possible. I really don't want to be dealing with serious issues ten years down the road.

My job is mostly administrative—I’m stuck in an office chair for 8 hours a day—and then I come home and spend even more time hunched over my computer. I know, I know, it’s terrible for you, but I guess I finally got the wake-up call I needed. I’ve always been active and played sports, so I’ve never had issues like this before. But lately—especially during the winter months—I barely exercise and I'm pretty sedentary. Yesterday, the pain started in my lower back (just above the glutes), and today it seems to have migrated up toward the middle. It’s most noticeable when I lie down...

Any advice, recommendations, or even just your best guesses at what's going on would be greatly appreciated... Thanks a lot...

Yesterday, I started feeling back pain for the very first time in my life. It’s not excruciating or anything, but I’m honestly pretty freaked out because I know how many people deal with this and how easily it can turn into a chronic nightmare. Since this is brand new to me, I want to nip it in the bud if possible so I’m not dealing with major issues years down the road.

My job is mostly administrative, so I'm sitting in a chair for 8 hours straight, and even when I'm home, I spend most of my time glued to my desk computer. I know it's bad for you, but I guess I needed this wake-up call. I've always been active, so I never had issues like this before. Lately, though, I rarely exercise—especially during the winter—and I'm moving around much less than I used to. The pain started in my lower back yesterday (just above the glutes) and today it seems to have migrated up toward the middle of my back. It’s more noticeable when I lie down.....

Any advice, recommendations, or ideas would be greatly appreciated... Thanks a lot....

Go see a doctor so they can get you a referral to a physical therapist. This might just be an acute flare-up, but if you don't address it, it could definitely become a chronic problem. You need a proper diagnosis and a treatment plan that actually works. Don't just wander around aimlessly popping painkillers; go do this the right way.👍
