Anyone else catch this one? I honestly went in thinking a movie about economics would be a total snooze fest, but it ended up being absolutely stellar. The standout feature is definitely the cast. Every single actor was spot on in their role. 😁

I only just got around to watching this today... what really caught my eye was seeing Zachary Quinto, who plays Spock in Hero...😉

Finally got around to watching it. I've been waiting since last summer.
Great movie. Kevin Spacey really nails these kinds of roles.

So, I actually sat down and watched it the other day. Hmm. It’s got an incredibly impressive cast, and the subject matter itself is certainly compelling, but there’s just this nagging sense that something is missing from the film, though I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is.
I suppose, all things considered, it’s a solid enough watch; it does a decent job of connecting the dots when it comes to the whole narrative regarding the recession and corporate greed. 🙂

The movie bears almost zero resemblance to what they showed in the trailer, but honestly? It’s still excellent.

The whole thing gives off this bizarre vibe—almost like you're watching a stage play rather than a film.

Regardless—highly recommended for anyone interested in the whole Wall Street finance angle...

Yeah, there's just not enough substance here. You spend half the runtime waiting to find out what actually happened—some bond package is about to tank, likely involving the real estate market—and they could have just laid it out in plain English right away. The rest is just a handful of decent, but unexceptional, monologues and five minutes of moral hand-wringing. In the end, everyone just caves to the fire sale because "they need the cash." The acting is top-tier, but it feels like a massive missed opportunity. Michael Clayton has a similar vibe and pacing, but it's much more gripping. I'd give this a 7/10.🙂

The movie is honestly quite good... what really stuck with me was how incredibly spot-on the corporate atmosphere felt—you know, those office dynamics and the whole vibe within a massive corporation... anyone who’s ever spent time working at a big firm—a private one, obviously—will totally get what I mean...

Honestly, I’m all for it! I mean, she was actually pretty decent in her last few roles, though I suppose I can't quite wrap my head around why we haven't seen her on screen much lately—it feels like she just vanished, and then when she does pop up, she seems to pick these rather lackluster projects, sort of like those Charlie's Angels type flicks. 🤷
