Meta won't load for me

Could use some help here—for a few days now, everything on Opera loads just fine except for Meta. I keep getting this message:

"Unable to establish a secure connection

You tried to access an unavailable address http://www.facebook.com/. Please check that the URL is correct, then try reloading the page.

Secure connection: serious error (45)"

On top of that, while I'm browsing, I keep getting these pop-ups saying my certificate has expired.
Is there a connection between these two, and what should I do?

Are the date and time set correctly?

Yeah, I've had to fix the date and time more than once, but that message just keeps popping up constantly.

Opera-more tools-clear browsing data, maybe if you clear out the cache and cookies it'll finally start working? Just make sure your date and time settings are actually correct first.

Just open Opera, left-click that red 'O' in the top left corner, then head over to Additional tools...

It’s just weird that you haven't been able to open Meta via an http link for the "last few days"... seems odd...

Neither of those Meta links are working for me.
I can't seem to find the Additional Tools... how do I get there? When I open that red icon, all I see are Back, Minimize, and Close.

Instead of just sitting around waiting for an answer, you might want to fire up those brain cells and try to figure out the settings you need on your own. Here, this was pretty tough.

Try hitting Alt on your keyboard—look for extra tools—then try clearing or wiping your browsing data or something like that

Everything was going smoothly this morning while I was catching up with some friends over on Meta in Colombia and Canada, but now this afternoon, I'm getting this message:

It won't let me log in at all, whether I'm using my PC or my iPhone. Does anyone have any bright ideas on how I can get back into my account?

Is this some internal Meta issue where they automatically flag 'non-local' names and force changes, or am I missing something else? I've been on Meta for about six years now and I've never run into anything like this before. Should I actually change my name to John Doe just to get access again, or what's the deal..?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can log back in just like I used to?

If anyone is willing to swing by and help me out (for a fee), please shoot me a DM. I’m honestly stuck and have no idea how to fix this. Every few minutes, I keep getting these pop-ups saying "server validation expired."

Maybe try checking Meta using a different browser (since you have Internet Explorer available),

Uninstall Opera,
run a scan on your computer with AdwCleaner and clear out whatever it finds... then go ahead and install Norton

Where on earth did you get that "360" from? 🤦It’s like those people who go out and download SpyHunter, only to spend the next three days whining because they had to wipe their entire OS and start from scratch after running a scan.

It seems you might not be aware of which free antivirus software is currently leading the pack in terms of popularity and ease of use globally.

I honestly have no clue who the most popular one is, since he isn't even in the top 20 pages of the rankings. And look, if his main claim to fame is being the lightest on RAM, then he’s basically useless.

Some people try to use him as an "excuse" for why they can't play games online, but it's honestly such a weak argument. It would be way easier to just go to a verified game server and temporarily disable their antivirus—which, let's be real, most decent AV software actually gives you the option to do anyway. Then, once they're done gaming and ready to hop back on the web, they could just turn it back on. 🙂

Why on earth would anyone bother using junk when there are better free alternatives out there? Honestly, Windows Defender in Eight is probably better than whatever you're suggesting.

Lately, certain sites (like The Washington Post) just won't load properly for me—it keeps looping back to the exact same page over and over. Looks like we haven't quite cracked this problem yet.
